Joy often takes a back seat to stress, work, productivity, busy, schedules, and to do lists. But what if joy is just as important as all these other things?!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Joy creates an energy of relaxation, abundance, and ease. All of these things create neural pathways in your brain and body and let your nervous system rest. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Not only is joy good for you, it's good for your life, too! Money follows joy, and the happier we are, the more things flow to us easily. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The energy of joy isn't something you have to do separately from the rest of your life - it's not something you "have to make time for" even though you're super busy and have a million things to do. The energy of joy inherently creates more in our lives and is important in and of itself. Having fun creates more in your life! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Our bodies know so much more than we are often willing to receive and acknowledge. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Your body knows what is true for you and what it would like to have. It has its own consciousness. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What if, during these crazy times, we turned inward, and asked our bodies what they know? What do they require and desire? What do they know about the Earth and what SHE requires and desires?! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

What are you aware of?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We've noticed that when we're going through something, we tend to think we're the only ones experiencing it. Turns out, lots of people do this!! Which is ironic since we are all experiencing it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What you're aware of may just be up for a lot of people right now. That's right - collective consciousness is processing a lot of the same things. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And this can also be a very practical process like we've been discussing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ask, what am I aware of? Is it mine? Do I have to deal with it, or can I just let it go, knowing that I'm just aware of those around me? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Even if it is yours, take a break. Put all your worries down, even for just 5 minutes. They'll be there later. Just be, let yourself sit in silence without the worries. Allow yourself this rest. What can rest and relaxing create that you have never acknowledged? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

So it seems that the constant flow of change has not slowed down in the new year! Recently we have shared posts on zones of awareness and what awareness actually is. "To be aware of the energy around you is what we define as awareness. It is being willing to know what you know, and to know that you know." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The more you are willing to acknowledge that, the more you will recognize what you know, and then more of it can show up. Not only will it show up, it will make sense to you.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Why are we sharing this? As we mentioned in our last post, if you have a very large zone of awareness and are not acknowledging it, you might feel like you're going crazy! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now that you know what awareness is, use it FOR you instead of AGAINST you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Acknowledge your zone, ask "Who does this belong to?" for every thought, feeling, and emotion you're aware of, and expand your zone way out beyond any known universe. Why do this? Because you will expand much farther than all of the insanity around us and you will find peace and space.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Expanding your zone beyond what you are aware of, and simultaneously acknowledging that most of what you are aware of is not yours, will give you back the space of you and allow you to have ease in all of the recent chaos.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Often people who are very aware report feeling chronically overwhelmed, tired, or irritated that they have to deal with it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But people who are OWNING and USING their awareness say they feel very grateful for this gift and as if they have a secret weapon.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

What is a zone of awareness? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's the spherical area around you that you are aware of. This includes what you're aware of physically, mentally, emotionally, and intuitively. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We talked about zones in our previous posts about spherical awareness. Everything that your spherical awareness includes is your zone. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How big is yours? Is it the room you're in? The street you're on? A mile wide? The whole state? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Zones shift depending on where we are, how safe we feel, and who we're with. If you're highly aware, you most likely have a much bigger zone than most people. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is important for two reasons: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. If you have a very large zone, you are most likely highly aware of everyone around you, including all the fear, anxiety, negativity, and stress. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. If you yourself are in a state of fear and stress, you have most likely collapsed your zone (very common in defense or survival mode). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you have a very large zone, acknowledge it! Remind yourself frequently that everything you are aware of is not yours. Don't take on everyone's stress. It's not your job or responsibility to fix it. It's your job to change YOU and that's it! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If your zone has collapsed from distress, take a few minutes to sit in silence, preferably in nature, and practice expanding your awareness again. Collapsed zones are like blinders on, barriers up: they squish you and block out all the good things trying to contribute to you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So what are we gonna do?! Expand our zones and acknowledge everything in them that isn't ours! This is easier than it sounds, and we'll post more about this in the coming weeks. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We wanted to give you some support, not just offer you well wishes at midnight. How is everything going? What if instead of resolutions, you set intentions? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Intentions for doing your best and understanding that change is not linear. Whatever you're attempting to improve on, we applaud you for that!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Happy Holidays! Merry everything! I hope you have had a wonderful December! Whatever your plans are this year, we hope you get to experience some joy over the next few days. It has been a wild ride, and you deserve some rest. To make that easier, we've compiled a quick and easy Holiday Checklist for you! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Are you in allowance?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Are you using this week's tool, Interesting Point of View?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Have you lowered your barriers?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These three tips are our recipe for success during the Holidays. You can also use these all year round. All of these are interpersonal tools designed to make your life easier - be in allowance of others' choices, use IPOV as much as possible, and lower your barriers when having difficult conversations so other people's emotions don't stick to you.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's the Holidays, you're taking a break (hopefully) so we'll keep this brief. If you have to have hard conversations this year, use the tool of IPOV in the following ways: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. In conversation: If someone is inviting you to argue or take a point of view, just say, "Huh! That's interesting!" Or say to yourself, "Interesting point of view, they have that point of view." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. With yourself: Any thoughts that are keeping you stuck, say to yourself, "Interesting point of view, I have that point of view," 10 times or until the energy dissipates.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. In conflict: If you are ruminating over something someone said, say to yourself, "Interesting point of view I have this point of view that this particular person has this point of view.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We are so close to the holidays!! And we are so grateful for all of our wonderful friends and family :) Believe it or not, Interesting Point of View is our #1 relationship saver! We want to share an example of how to use this tool so you can add it to your toolbox in the coming days. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do you and your friends have different points of views about how things should be handled recently? Most likely, many of us have had conversations about that this year. What's difficult about these conversations is that everyone has an opinion, and it's usually very strong! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We are all taught to align and agree or to resist and react. What does that mean? Let's say your friend tells you she's having a terrible day because her boss is a total cotton headed n***y muggins (catch that Elf reference? 😏). To align and agree would be to say, "Oh man, you're soo right. Your boss is a total dingbat. I hate that person!" To resist and react would be to say "Nooo, it's okay! You can still have a great day! Don't let that yahoo get you down!" ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Both of these are polarities. They're the positive and negative reactions to the friend's statement. And neither of these reactions (hint: they are a reaction! Not action! Reacting usually doesn't serve us) allow space for change or question.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What if instead you said "Huh, that's interesting." You can follow it up with more questions if you'd like to continue the conversation, or just leave it as "Interesting..." if you don't. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How could your holidays change by using this tool? What else is possible for a joyful, easy festive season? There's another choice - and it's not a polarity! 🥳⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Happy Holiday Season everyone! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As we enter the last two weeks of the year, we'd like to share a tool with you. It's called "Interesting Point of View," or "IPOV" for short. This tool is great for difficult conversations, which is why we recommend it during holiday time! It's very easy - you can use it on yourself or with other people. To use it as it is written in the graphic, just say to yourself "Interesting point of view, I have this point of view," after every thought, feeling, or emotion that is making you feel stuck. If you feel very charged about something, meaning you keep thinking about it over and over, try saying this 3-100 times and see how you feel after! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To use it with family or friends, just say, either out loud or to yourself, "Huh, interesting point of view!" You can use this if you feel an argument coming on. You don't have to agree with them or react to what they're saying. You can just say, "Huh, that's interesting!" Then change the subject.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We learn these things subconsciously, so in order to change them, we have to make the conscious choice to unlearn them. What are you grateful for? Kim is grateful for her horse Tanner! Spherical awareness is being aware of everything, in all directions, all the time. It also includes being aware of the past present and the future, all in the same moment. It is an amazing capacity and a huge gift. Living in our world, it can sometimes be overwhelming when you get all of the information at once. If we don’t acknowledge this capacity, then it works against us, instead of working for us.

Here are 3 tips to make functioning from spherical awareness – whether that is a natural capacity of yours or a learned skill – total ease, and actually useable for you. Do you have children? The third tip is just for you!

1. Recognize that awareness is practical.
You hear the guy yelling at the cashier, you see the woman talking on the phone to her friend, you see the person fidgeting nervously in the corner. You can feel and perceive everything, and that usually means reading body language, picking up on nonverbal cues, and being hyper aware of everyone around you.

2. Is this mine? What am I aware of?
The next time you are in a state of overwhelm, acknowledge how you are feeling and hold space for yourself. Then, take deep breaths, slow down, and ask yourself, “Okay, I am very aware, I know that. What am I aware of? What are my thoughts telling me? Is this feeling mine? Are these thoughts mine? Or did I pick this up from somebody in the store?”

3. What to do if your child is overwhelmed
Get in their space so they can focus on you, start taking deep, slow breaths and tell them to do the same. Ask them, “What’s going on? Tell me what you are aware of.” Then...

Remember how on Monday we said spherical awareness is how you use your awareness FOR you instead of AGAINST you? And how if you don't know you're aware, it can create a bunch of muck??

Well here is an announcement for everyone: YOU ARE AWARE! We are all aware, and some of us are so aware we don't even know it, and we think all of the world's garbage is ours.

It's not!! Start asking, What am I aware of? Is this mine? 99% of the time, it's not. Once you acknowledge that it's not yours, it will lighten up, and you know you don't have to deal with it. Don't get caught up in trying to figure it out or figure out why - once you know it's not yours, put your attention and energy anywhere else! But preferably, somewhere easy and fun, like your dog :)

What is spherical awareness? It's being aware of everything around you, 365 degrees, at all times, including the past, present, and future. Sound like a lot?? Many of our and friends are already doing this totally naturally! The key is to make it work for you. If you are aware that you are aware, then you'll know how to use it to your advantage. If you're not aware that you're aware, you'll think it's all a reflection of you and your stuff. This results in trying to fix and change everybody else's stuff when really - you're just aware of it!! What are you aware of?

Trina has been an Occupational Therapist for 25 years & is the owner and founder of Harmony Therapeutics LLC, a successful therapy for over 15 years serving Occupational, Physical and Speech therapy services to kids and adults on the spectrum in a variety of settings. Kim Lucien has also been working with kids and adults on the autistic spectrum for over 25 years as a coach & includes working with horses to create a greater connection with client’s bodies, surroundings, intuitive awareness & communication. Together they address the energetic connection that exist with awareness to help make ‘sensitives’ easier to manage and to flip what may be thought of as a wrongness into a strong-ness.
