North Cave Playing Fields Association - Patio - Can you help sponsor?

As reported in Village Link, NCPFA has received planning permission to construct a patio. Construction starts in March so that the new facility will be ready in time for the return of cricket to the field in April. We have already received some generous donations towards materials and construction, which have allowed us to move forward; but we are now appealing for more funds to help us realise the dream.

All sponsors will be acknowledged on a commemorative plaque to be installed on the Clubhouse wall. Anything that you feel you can give would be gratefully received and will help us provide a high quality offer for all users of the area.

Examples: £10 covers the cost of installing a Paving Slab; £25 for a sleeper; £65 for a fence post; £75 a fence panel

VILLAGE LINK - NEEDED: VOLUNTEERS

One of our regular Village Link volunteers has had to step down from delivering to Newport Road. Is there anyone who is able to help?

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

Simples! 😃

When the Village Link is ready for delivery (once every two months = 6 times a year) they will be delivered to you. You then take a walk and drop one into each house on your route. Great excuse for a little walk whilst helping your community.

ALSO NEEDED:

Occasional volunteers who can step in when a regular deliverer is away or unable to do their normal delivery for whatever reason.

Free Agriculture Workshop, for farmers and landowners, on the morning of Tue 21 June at Drewton Manor Rooms. The environment and the business of farming are now more linked than ever before. This workshop will show you a number of ways to improve both - as well as providing breakfast!

We need to get enough uptake established quickly to enable this to go ahead, so please:-
a) Confirm whether you are able to attend or delegate to anyone else
b) forward to any of your farmer/landowner contacts in the West Wolds area, or nearby, and encourage them to get in touch to register their interest.

Our Walled Garden Project Begins Monday 1st November... :)
November 2021 sees the commencement of an exciting new large-scale project at Burnby Hall Gardens, which involves the removal of the existing Victorian-style garden and its replacement with a newly designed walled garden.
The work will run through the winter months and will see the creation of concentric bricked-edged paths alongside an extensive re-development of the planting areas which will be enhanced by the existing 7’ walls around the site.
The spring of 2022 then sees the planting of the new garden by specially recruited volunteers with completion of the project anticipated in May.
This means that the Victorian Garden will be closed off from Monday 1st November to allow for work to commence. We apologise for any inconvenience caused over this period.
