‛கொல்கத்தா- சென்னை கோரமண்டல் எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் ரயிலில் மொத்தம் 10 முதல் 12 பெட்டிகள் தடம் புரண்டன. இந்த சம்பவம் இரவு 7.20 மணிக்கு நடந்தது. தடம்புரண்ட இந்த ரயில் பெட்டிகள் பக்கத்தில் சென்ற தண்டவாளத்தில் விழுந்தன. இந்த வேளையில் தான் பெங்களூர் யஷ்வந்தபுரத்தில் இருந்து ஹவுரா நோக்கி வந்த ரயில் தடம்புரண்டு கிடந்த கோரமண்டல் எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் ரயிலின் பெட்டிகள் மீது மோதின. இதனால் பெங்களூர் யஷ்வந்தபுரம்-ஹவுரா ரயிலில் 3 முதல் 4 பெட்டிகள் தடம்புரண்டன. அதன்பிறகு அந்த பாதையில் வந்த சரக்கு ரயிலும் தடம்புரண்ட பெட்டிகள் மீது மோதின. இப்படித்தான் விபத்து நடந்துள்ளது. சம்பவ இடத்தில் மீட்பு பணிகள் விரைவுப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன'' என்றார்.
