Considering that the war has ended, this page has lost its meaning and the original purpose.

I founded this page on Day 1 (27th September) when the aggression from Azerbaijan started. My sole purpose was to spread the truth of what was happening to the world and to help Armenian people (in a symbolic move) to show to all of you (Armenians) that you are not alone in this struggle.

The war ended on November 10th. Considering that the war ended in defeat, i saw it as my personal responsibility and duty to stay in these difficult moments of the aftermath and continue writing on the behalf of the Armenian people.

Now, when the aftermath shock has passed, I have no ambition to involve myself (by writing) in inner Armenian struggle and political intrigues that Armenian elites are doing right now.

I myself, as a non-Armenian ( I am European) will leave this to Armenians.

Thank you for following this page for the last 7 months. It was my honour to be with Armenian people in these tough moments.

The future can only be built on healthy foundations of peace and forgiveness. We all, as Christians need to understand this as a crucial point.

God bless you all...with a hope that one day Armenian people will gain their freedom in Artsakh.

Snap elections will be held in Armenia on 20 June

Armenian PM Pashinyan has confirmed that he had a meeting with leader of the opposition Prosperous Armenia Party Gagik Tsarukyan.

"During the meeting, both sides stated that the best way out of the current domestic political situation is to hold snap parliamentary elections."

Therefore, the elections will be held in 3 months.

Dutch movie makers arrive in Armenia to make a documentary about Artsakh

"A group of Dutch documentarians who have arrived in Armenia to make a film about Artsakh and are studying the materials at this stage, and have also expressed a desire to meet with President of the Union of Cinematographers of Armenia, film director Harutyun Khachatryan to talk about his film."

EU Parliament strongly condemns Turkish actions
(in Artsakh, Libya and Syria)

"The European Parliament has strongly condemned the use of Syrian mercenaries in conflicts in Artsakh, in violation of international law."

It also called for immediate withdrawal of Turkish troops from Northern Syria.

Armenian Army exercises start

"The Armenian Armed Forces are conducting large-scale tactical and tactical-professional exercises from March 16 to 20. Today, the exercises have started

Tactical and tactical-professional exercises will be held in all operational areas of the Armenian Armed Forces with the involvement of combined-arms forces, special forces units.

The purpose of the exercises is to check the combat readiness of the troops, control of the operational level, interaction, and conduct fire control trainings.

The ministry noted that 7.5 thousand servicemen will take part in the exercises, about 200 missile, rocket-artillery, artillery weapons, more than 150 anti-tank weapons, about 100 armored vehicles, more than 90 air defense systems, as well as aviation will be involved."

Azeri FM says that Armenians held in Azerbaijan aren't POW-s

"As for the Armenian military personnel currently being held by Azerbaijan, Bayramov said they could not be regarded as prisoners of war, because they were detained not during combat operations.

"These people were apprehended much later, when the combat operations had ended and a trilateral statement was signed already.

To be more precise, on November 26, 2020. They had been drafted into the army in the Shirak region of Armenia and sent to Karabakh, where they committed crimes resulting in the death of Azerbaijani military servicemen and civilians. They continue to be investigated."

According to several reports there are about 300 Armenians in captivity in Azerbaijan.

Armenian Army to hold military exercises (March 16-20)

"These military exercises include about 7,500 servicemen, about 200 missiles, rocket-artillery and artillery, more than 150 antitank weapons, about 100 armored vehicles, and more than 90 air defense systems.

Aviation attack means will also be involved in these military exercises to assist the tactical operations of the troops."

Russia won’t tolerate intentional destruction of Armenian Army by its own leadership (Pashinyan)

"Russian MoD general Shoygu told Harutyunyan (Armenian MoD) that Russia won’t tolerate destruction of the Armenian Army and views it as the plan of the West, and the Armenian authorities’ encroachments against the army — ordered by the West.

Shoygu warned rather harshly that, besides Onik Gasparyan’s dismissal, Russia will view other dismissals within the prism of destruction of the army — something that is inadmissible for Russia since the Armenian Army is of strategic significance for Russia in this region and is the army of a member state of the CSTO."

Azerbaijan to conduct military exercises (March 15-18)

Up to 10 000 soldiers will be involved in exercises. In addition, about 100 tanks will be used and also more then 200 missiles and artillery systems.

"The military exercises will be conducted in forests and mountainous territories and the focus will be on the management of troops and the improvement of various types of troops."

The story of a Kurdish man that sheltered Armenians during the Genocide

Mohammed Shammadin Agha Selvan was a Kurdish tribal leader in Zakho who played a pivotal role in sheltering Armenians fleeing between 1916 and 1918.

When Armenians fled the Ottoman Empire’s genocidal campaign during World War I he embrasec them and provided them with a shelter.

He was recognized by Pope Pius XI for his work protecting Christians from brutality. In 1925, the Catholic leader awarded Selvan a medal.

Along with the Turks and other peoples, a number of Kurdish tribes, mainly as part of the Ottoman Army, participated in the killing of Armenians during the genocide. Other Kurds like Selvan opposed the mass killings, hiding and sometimes adopting members of the ethnic group.

Nearly a century on, Selvan’s descendants have proudly kept this award left by their ancestor.

“This is the award presented to my grandfather, late Mohammed Shammadin Agha Selvan by Pope Pius XI,” Saad Mohammed Haji Agha told Rudaw on Thursday. “Despite all the hardships, displacement and difficulties our nation saw across different periods of time from 1958 to 1991 and to 2003, and from 2003 up to now, we have kept this award safe and passed it from one generation to the other.”

According to Selvan’s grandson, the leader was the mayor of Zakho in the 1920s.

The awarding of Selvan came after the Virgin Mary Assyrian Church sent official correspondence to the Vatican, praising the Kurdish leader’s role giving Armenian’s shelter on his land and property.

“Our church was the first to be built in Zakho. In 24 hours, [Ottoman] soldiers arrived in Zakho from Mosul. Mohammed Agha came to our church to protect us from the attack,” Polis Henna, a retired priest from Zakho.

Over 2,000 Armenians currently live in the Kurdistan Region, according to Yerwant Nisan, an Armenian community leader and former MP in the Kurdistan Region’s parliament.

The vast majority, around 2,000, are in Duhok province, and 200 live in Erbil. Another 800 Armenians live in Kirkuk, a province disputed between Erbil and Baghdad.

Residents of Afza Rok Miri, an Armenian village in Zakho, still praise Selvan’s role protecting their ancestors who made it to the present-day Kurdistan Region during the genocide.

“My late uncle told me ‘never forget what was done for us [by Selvan],” said Sarkis Yousif, an Armenian resident of the village.

The Constitution of the Kurdistan Region recognizes Armenians as a distinct ethnic group, providing them the right to education in their mother tongue, and reserves them one seat in parliament.

There are six Armenian churches in the Kurdistan Region – four in Duhok province, and one in Erbil."

Retired General has had important role in development of Armenian Army in its victorious years during the First Nagorno War.

Aliyev says they will force Armenia to create a corridor through Zangezur (Syunik)

Aliyev said that any obstruction of creation of transport corridor through southern Armenia is unacceptable. He said that corridor was mentioned in ceasefire agreement and that Armenia must abide by it.

Turkey removed from list of countries benefiting from EEU tariff privileges upon Armenia's proposal

"At the initiative of the Armenian side, the proposal to remove 75 countries, including Turkey from the list of developing countries benefiting from tariff privileges of the Eurasian Economic Union was included in the agenda. The proposal was unanimously accepted and will enter into force six months after publication of the decision, in accordance with the existing procedures."

Azeri soldiers desecrate and destroy statue of Soviet Armenian in Shushi

Azerbaijani soldiers destroyed the statue of Hovhannes (Ivan) Tevosyan, a Soviet Armenian born in Shushi. The statue was destroyed because he was of Armenian origin.

"Tevosyan was born in Shushi to a family of tailors and craftsmen. A few years after his birth, the family escaped from Shushi and settled in Baku where Tevosyan graduated from the Orthodox Parish School and the three-year school of commerce. Upon graduation, he worked at the oil company of Volga-Baku and studied at a preparatory school in the evenings.

Tevosyan has held the positions of Minister of Metallurgic Industry of the USSR and Vice-Chairman of the USSR Council of Ministers, the Minister of Ferrous Metallurgy of the USSR. In 1956, he became Ambassador of the USSR to Japan and served until his death."

Burbank City (USA) recognizes Artsakh's independence

City council voted unanimously for recognition of Artsakh. Also, the Council rescinded the Burbank-Hadrut Friendship City status while the city remains under the illegal Azerbaijani occupation.

About 100 000 people are living in Burbank.

Chief of Armenian Army to be dismissed in 48 h

Armenian President and Pashinyan have made a deal in which Gasparyan (Chief of Armenian Army) will be removed on March 4th. Armenian President wont sign the decision but the decision will enter into force automatically through other legal route.

The opposition demands immediate meeting with the President.

The Army response is awaited. It isnt impossible to wake up with tanks on the street in next 2 days.

We have to wait and see...

Anti-Pashinyan protestors storm Yerevan district hall

The protestors have broken through police corridors and have entered city hall. "The demonstrators emphasize that the employees of the district hall were being taken to today's rally called by Pashinyan. They urge the employees not to go to that rally."

Soon after they said what they meant, they left the building and moved on.

Turkish transport planes are making flights from Turkey to Azeri exclave. This is a probably Turkish response to possible coup in Armenia where military will take over.

DAY 3: Tide is turning against Pashinyan

From the early morning, protests are being held in Yerevan. Numbers of participants is growing by every hour. As night falls down, protestors are still determined to stay until Pashinyan resigns. Tent are standing since yesterday so protestors can sleep overnight at the square.

Also, southern part of Armenia has joined today and protest in solidarity with Armenian Army demand has being held in town of Kapan (close to new border with Azerbaijan).

2 days ago, Pashinyan has sent a draft to Armenian President to dismiss Chief of the Armenian Army. During the early evening, news broke out that the President refuses and has sent the draft back to Pashinyan.

Pashinyan didnt received news well. He again sent the same draft to the President. It appears he is becoming delusional and doesnt understand "the game" is at its end.

It is a strong message to Pashinyan...and it seems Pashinyan is losing control over the country.

33 years from Sumgait pogrom

33 years ago, Azeri mobs, fueled by hatred and recent events (where some of Azeris were killed) hunted down and killed Armenians in Azeri city of Sumgait in the eastern part of the country.

Official numbers say that 32 Armenians were killed. Estimates put this number at about 200.

100+ of those responsible went on trial where they received light sentences.

These events were a part of rising tensions between Armenia and Azerbaijan that led to First Nagorno War.

Armenian President shocked after meeting with Chief of Armenian Army

"The army generals and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia presented to President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian hundreds of facts about the illogical and treacherous instructions that Nikol Pashinyan had given during the war and declared that their decision remains unchanged, that is, Pashinyan must resign.

According to Mediaport, Armen Sarkissian was literally astounded when he was exiting the building of the General Staff."

DAY 2: So-called coup attempt

From early morning protests are growing after yesterdays Armenian Army leadership statement demanding resignation of PM Pashinyan.

Protests are emerging at every place and Artskah itself has awaken. Armenians in Artsakh have rallied in support of the Army and they also joined in demand for resignation of Pashinyan.

Support is also coming from Armenian diaspora. Rally will be held in Glendale, California. Its organizers call for not only removal of Pashinyan but also his arrest for treason. Armenians of Russia have given their unconditional support to the Army.

The leader of the Army has refused Pashinyan offer for talk. It is obvious one person will have to leave. Considering that Pashinyan support comes only from his inner circle and small number of people that still believe in his lies, his only solution is to resign. If not for Armenian people, then to save his own life. Because, if he continues to insist in his refusal to step down he might end up like Ceaușescu.

International reactions about events are different.

Russia has refused to condemn Armenian Army statement. On the other hand, Turkey and Azerbaijan have strongly condemned Armenian Army moves and they defend Pashinyan.

Late at evening, Armenian President left meeting with leader of Armenian Army visibly shocked after Armenian generals have given him 100+ proofs about treatcherous things and illogical moves that Pashinyan did during the war.

Next few days will be crucial....what will happen we dont know, but it could change Armenian future.

Rally took place in Stepanakert. The protestors called Pashinyan and Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan traitors.

Demonstrators voiced support for the General Staff of the Armenian military, which demanded Pashinyan’s and his cabinet’s resignation in a statement on Thursday morning.

Civil disobedience actions are expected in Stepanakert today as well. "

$11 million dissapeared from Hayastan Fund

While Armenian soldiers were bleeding during the war, some decided to take the money from Fund that collected donations.

These transactions were coordinated by four people:
-MP Hayk Sargsyan,

Clouds of conflict rise over Armenia

Just recently, Head of Armenian Army categorically rejected Pashinyan demand for his resignation.

"Onik Gasparyan categorically rejects to resign and has said the demands of the army cannot be changed.' The generals sent a signal to Pashinyan that if pressure on Gasparyan continues, the situation will worsen even more."

It is obvious that one man will have to leave. Pashinyan or Gasparyan. Time is running out for Pashinyan as more and more people and insitutions are abandoning him.
