Mega Cultural Festival Jashn-e-Kashmir”- New Kashmir New Hope organized in Ganderbal
Live performances by renowned artists mesmerized audiences
GANDERBAL, NOVEMBER 03: J&K Folk Artists Association, Shah Qalander Folk Theatre, in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages and District Administration Ganderbal today organized mega cultural festival here at the auditorium of Boys Higher Secondary School Ganderbal.
Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir who was Chief guest on the occasion inaugurated the Cultural Festival-celebrating tradition, culture and heritage.
Several live performances were presented by the renowned artists of J&K including Sanam Sajad, Imtiyaz Ahmad and others.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC complemented the organizers for organizing such cultural show in the district and highlighted the importance of art and culture of Kashmir. He also assured all possible support to the local artists from District administration for preserving and promoting the local art, culture and folk traditions.
The main attractions of the programme were Kashmiri Chakri by Imtiyaz Ahmad and party, Ruff dance by Sabreena Mushraq, Dogri dance by Nishu Pandita, Band Pather by Baba Reshi folk Theatre, Gujar dance by Wahida Mugal, besides folk dances and music performances.
On the occasion Nukad Natak on Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat”and the drama themed "Importance of being literate" remained the major highlights of the cultural show.
Several students of various schools of the district also presented various performances which were highly appreciated by the audiences.
All J&K Folk Artists Association Chairman, Gulzar Ahmad Bhat in his welcome address expressed gratitude to the District Admmisntration for supporting them to organize the Show in the district adding that current government is keen to support the artists of J&K and various initiatives are taken by the LG administration in this regard.
