We had so many fantastic performances in Morwaake but from his audition we knew Vuyi Otukile was perfect for the role. He’s been an icon of Botswana film for many years and now we’re so proud to say he has won Best Actor at the Accra Independent Film Festival in Ghana 🇬🇭. Congratulations Vuyi! Making Botswana proud. 🇧🇼 🇧🇼

When we set out to make Morwaake, we had a few goals. First, we wanted to make a really great film that really spoke to the experience of young creatives in Botswana. After that we hoped to have the film screened in at least one international film festival…. Well, now we’ve been selected for 5 (and counting) all across the globe, we’ve won awards and most importantly we’ve shown the world what Botswana has to offer! Congratulations to all our wonderful cast and crew, this is all down to your hard work and dedication.
