🎥✨ A Night to Remember at the Morwaake Screening! ✨🎥
The screening of Morwaake was made even more special by the incredible support from the Ministry of Sports And Arts Botswana.
The night began with a powerful speech by Deputy Minister Tebogo Matebesi, who introduced the film with inspiring words about the importance of nurturing Botswana’s creative industries. His speech set the tone for an evening celebrating the power of storytelling and collaboration.
As the night unfolded, we were honoured to welcome The Honourable Minister Jacob Kelebeng and his wife Lydia. Despite being called away to a last-minute meeting of ministers earlier in the evening, Minister Kelebeng made it a priority to attend after his meeting, personally meeting filmmakers and showing his unwavering support for Botswana’s growing film industry.
His arrival was met with excitement and renewed confidence in the future of film and TV in Botswana. It was a testament to the Ministry’s dedication to fostering the creative sector, a sentiment echoed so strongly in Mr Matebesi’s speech.
At Kgotla Films, we’ve been working in Botswana since 2019, and this night felt like a turning point. There’s a sense of hope, pride, and opportunity building within the industry, and with leaders like Minister Kelebeng and Deputy Minister Matebesi showing such commitment, the future looks brighter than ever.
Here’s to more stories, more collaborations, and a thriving film industry for Botswana! 🇧🇼 🎬
