Awwww yiiiiii. I’ve been waiting for this to finally drop! The has opened up their back patio. Just look how cute it is - the perfect place for a date, holiday gathering, or family evening. The chef is from La Jolla! Thank you to the owners for contributing to the “level up” of our city. It’s attractions like these that make it extra delightful to live here. Everyone else, make it a point to check them out stat!

Did you know we had a Soroptimist club in Lemon Grove? This group is dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls through education by providing scholarships to young women as well as mentoring opportunities!

The is just…so BADA$$! Check out our most recent November project where we installed a native plant garden, food garden, and removed all the goat weeds so the kids could enjoy the space again. We hope our work will help spread awareness and build another generation of little nature lovers.

Each month our crew of volunteers TRANSFORMS a space in Lemon Grove. Working together we can plant and beautify huge spaces and turn them into low maintenance, conservation friendly, gardens for everyone to enjoy. If you want a way to get active, meet neighbors, and give back, then this is the group for you. Email [email protected] to join our next December garden party.

A little bit of play in my life! Lemon Grove Pickleball holding down four courts today in the June Gloom weather! Really hoping we can get the numbers in the cost of the improvements soon! We got the contact of the local news at NBC 7 and my vision is for us to be able to do a story on bringing this win home for us after we update this area for the children and the community.

I played so much today, you might as well call me Greg! Three straight hours and boy am I wiped!! Although we were missing a lot of our diehards, we had some people I haven’t seen since last year roll up, which was awesome! We also got a new member who lives in Lemon Grove who caught the Pickleball bug!!

A little bit of this a little bit of that! We’d started at 8:30am and stayed until 11:30am! Next week we are planning to go to the beach after for Alejandro’s birthday :) so pack your beach chairs to come out with us after practice!

This just in…we got our pickleball shirts!! Come get yours at the city council budget meeting on Wednesday, at 6pm at the Community room where we will be advocating for getting bathrooms at the recreation center on Saturdays, as well as asking them to apply for the grant for Kunkle Park.

Holey moley! We had our biggest day today. Our count at one time (not over the day) was 47. We had over 10 new players. I also heard that people have been coming out on Sundays to use the lines.

The growth is fun to see, but its the deepening of relationships that makes me the most proud. After playing, many of us went to celebrate Nick’s birthday at the American Legion. Everyone was smiling and having a good time, and it almost made me tear up. There’s nothing better than investing in something with love, and then seeing that love compound. You guys Rock! Lemon Grove Pickleball 4 Lyfe.

What a day! We had a full house event though it was stinking hot out there (we may need to transfer to summer hours- let me know what you think. Not one, but two people involved in our government (not all Lemon Grove), also came in attendance to have some fun!! Can you spot them?

All this to be said, I feel we’re on the road to reaching the original vision for when this all first started. I see pickleballers laughing together, I see pickleballers helping out without me even having to ask, I see pickleballers making connections and networking. It’s really an uplifting atmosphere for anyone who hasn’t come out yet. I encourage you to mark your calendar and come say hi. Someone will pull you in as long as you make it over to the blacktop!

Let me tell you, there’s nothing more uplifting than banding together around a cause! We’re a heck of a motley crew. Each of us has different energies, different ideas of the world, different life philosophies, but I appreciate all that people have to give. You guys have made my world richer and I’m so grateful you’ve been on this journey with me to advocate for something for our community. Long Live Lemon Grove Pickleball!!

Oops, I'm a little late! But can you blame me...Pickleball has been on my mind. We got to figure out a way to convince the school board that it's important to our city!!

Fun fact. I started Lemon grove Lemon Grove Happenings because I wanted to drive people to Lemon Grove Pickleball. Lemon Grove Happenings took on a life of its own at this point, but if you like this calendar, you can give kudos to the foundation, which is Lemon Grove Pickleball. 🙂 Both have the same purpose..to build community, health, happiness, and make our city the ZEST place to live. It's all out of love for ya'll and our home.

So if you wanna support, please DM me. We need help from the greater community on a number of different projects, and I would be happy to figure out what's the right fit for you.
