This collection ships at the start of 2024! Watch this space this week--we're posting the preorder link very, very soon.

Alice Te Punga Somerville writes, "....Ancestors, family, language and land are everywhere – invoked, described, present, pulsing, overlapping – in this stunning collection that speaks from, about, to, and towards Aotearoa. In so many ways, Māori Maid Difficult is a first yet it brings to mind generations of Māori poets who have gone..."

This last week, we have been rereading PAPER AND STICK, a chapbook by Priscilla Wathington, and we have been grieving. PAPER AND STICK is a Tram Editions' collection examining settler-colonial violence in occupied Palestine.

We wanted to share with you that, today, the author reached out to us, and she will donate her profit from current PAPER AND STICK sales to Palestinian humanitarian efforts.

"...by extension, we agree/ how we'll be punished/ for departures fits of fancy..." We're admiring "Terms" by Priscilla Wathington! Hear her, Mary Gilliland, and Aliah Lavonne Tigh and Cynthia Hogue read today, 4pm CST, in honor of Cynthia Hogue's CONTAIN!

(We'll add a link to the event in the comments section!)

National Book Award winner, Roger Reeves will be in the Kindred Stories' Reading Garden discussing his newest book, Dark Days: Fugitive Essays with Kindred's own Stevens Orozco on August 4 at 7:30 PM.

In his newest work of nonfiction, award-winning poet Roger Reeves finds new meaning in silence, protest, fugitivity, freedom, and ecstasy. He describes the history of the hush harbor—places where enslaved people could steal away to find silence and court ecstasy, to the side of their impossible conditions. Together, these groundbreaking essays build a profound vision for how to see and experience the world in our present moment, and how to strive toward an alternative existence in intentional community underground. “The peace we fight and search for,” Reeves writes, “begins and ends with being still.”

Perfect for fans of Claudia Rankine, Ross Gay and Hanif Abdurraqib.

See ya'll in the garden!

We want to wish Cynthia Hogue's CONTAIN a beautiful "Happy First Birthday!" Tram Editions is proud to offer this chapbook which is available on our website. Happy Birthday, CONTAIN!!!!

We're elated to launch Cynthia Hogue's CONTAIN next Tuesday, July 19th! CONTAIN is Tram editions' third chapbook, and we'll include the preorder link in comments.

Here's what Afaa M. Weaver, author of City of Eternal Spring, writes:
“As much as human beings were made to stay inside their homes in many places, pulled back like the awkward weeds we can be, threatened with culling by the mind of the garden, we were, in that way, contained by the pandemic. However, in Contain, the poet asks that we all remember what must not be held inside us...."
