Top reasons for reading mangas in order to help you learn a new language.

While we wait for season 2 to come out on February 20th 2023, let's look at a few reasons why we do what we do.

#1:
The NUMBER ONE reason is INTEREST!
The easiest way to consolidate a language you learn is to use it in everyday conversation.
But when you have no one to talk to, or if you’re not quite at the level to have everyday conversation yet, the second-best thing is to consume content produced in the language.
But it can be hard finding interesting content to consume, especially considering you might need to consume it over and over again.
That’s where MANGAS come in! They’re super interesting AND the words repeat themselves (as seen on point #3) without having to read the same page/chapter over and over again.

Probably the best advantage, combined with the others, is that you have pictures!
This advantage is two-fold.
First, the pictures can help you remember the words you are reading.
Second, when you learn words, you have pictures to attach to them.

Repetition is mother of perfection. But not senseless repetition!
When you read a manga, the same words and expression will repeat, BUT they will be used in multiple different contexts.
And that’s one of the keys of learning a language: using the same expressions in multiple different situations.
And that’s even more true when the same word has multiple translations…

You can always read more slowly or faster. YOU are in control of the pace of the text.
This is opposed to watching anime or movies, where the characters speak at their own rhythm.
You could always pause and rewind every time you want to listen back to a part. But which is easier?
In fact, I am not hating on watching anime! That’s actually the next step we have in mind after reading manga.

Mangas focus on conversation, that is characters talking and exchanging with each other.
That means many expressions can be used right away to show off with your friends!
This is opposed to reading full novels, where there are a lot of descriptions and where text is written in a more formal manner.
