This episode is hefty one - because we really wanted to make sure we cover a lot of angles of the ethics of thrifting/selling as well as sharing our personal experience in this world.

Is thrifting and reselling ethical? Do re-sellers contribute to the problem of higher prices at thrift stores and therefore take away opportunities for people to buy nicer things at a lower cost? And - how does Goodwill actually work and what is their process?

It’s been A WEEK guys - a long couple of weeks 😅 Between navigating unemployment, supporting one another emotionally, and asking ourselves what we want with our future - we are pretty exhausted. /

While there are so many topics we want to talk about - we feel drawn to talking about valuing/knowing our worth in what we all do as business owners/creatives/freelancers...if you provide a service/product YES this includes you too /

Sometimes I wonder if this time is better than ever to start this conversation, because of the incredible impact COVID19 has had in our culture and work as creatives and business owners. As always - we have NO idea how to navigate these decisions, but we are at least talking about what we’ve learned and where we want to go. This conversation is going to spliced into pieces - because there’s WAY too much to cover! /

🔥Flow State & Productivity : Quick Clip!🔥

Flow state and productivity look very different for the two of us as we go after our work days. Josiah values the concept of “flow state”: mental state in which performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process. On the other hand, I prefer a work day to be hour-to-hour based on how I feel and what my needs are.

Both work great - but it’s definitely taken a few years to recognize and then respect that huge difference in how we work! Not respecting that difference easily leads to frustration, irritation, and obvious conflict. HOW we work is just as important as the work we do!
