Reborn again,

The inspiration for changing my Dj alias is my whakapapa, reaching back to my heritage, to be proud of who I am and where I come from, to bring forward belonging, understanding and peace within. In te reo maori ‘Ko’ is used when talking about something specific and used before proper names, a fitting intro for the new persona.

‘Rhizo’ is a term for a combining form of ‘root’ or ‘roots. The inspiration behind this is when I first had the feeling of wanting to change my Dj alias I wasn’t sure what I should change it to or what direction to head in, so common sense for me at the time was to dig back to the roots of my dj’ing. The meaning also includes ‘combining’. For me this means bringing people and music together, creating a vibe where people can just dance and rinse out cleansing their souls.

I see my self as a conductor that loves to play music and take people on a journey, make them dance, expose new music and play different versions of songs from producers that many have not heard before. Deep in the electronic trenches is where I explore and forage for fresh beats, I carefully select sounds that have that sense of euphoria I have experienced on a very intimate level. This has given me the desire to replicate and share the vibrations that maneuver throughout the dance floor tickling at just the right frequency.
