WHO ARE WE?!

THE BLACK LOTUS SOCIETY

Hip-Hop as a way of life can only be expressed by those who “ live” Hip-Hop. Unfortunately, most of the world views Hip-Hop as a genre of music and NOT a culture. We find people talking about Hip-Hop as if it’s some competition of status. As a result, we have watched many lose their souls in the rat race to become the top celebrity of rap.

However, in this madness there has always been whispers of a Hip-Hop culture that gives roots to the whole movement. There were principles that have been set throughout Hip-Hop’s journey that constitute a true and thorough man or woman of the culture. There was a walk and a talk that these people possessed that should have remained law.

When you discuss Hip-Hop, it should be from a place of experience in either one of the elements with a love and appreciation for the community. The music should be analyzed and explained with the responsibility of maintaining the integrity of Hip-Hop. Hip-Hop and the rap music industry have different objectives. You need a media outlet that has been “culturally” seasoned in both.
