Have you ever wondered what the Outlander filming and book locations were like back in the 1740s? A couple of years ago, we invested in one very large historic map which documented the whole of Scotland in the 1740s – every town, every road, every property. It’s an incredible resource and we want to share some of its wonderful secrets with you.
Diane Nicholson will be hosting this live Virtual Tour of 1740’s Scotland, which will take you back in time to visit 17 locations. For each location we will show you the historic map location from the 1740s, and then we’ll take you on a virtual tour of that location now, comparing one against the other. Using a combination of videos and photos, you’ll see how much, or in many cases, how little these places have actually changed over the last 270 years.
The Tour is packed with interesting information – historic and Outlander related.
The Virtual Tour includes a visit to:
Eight well known Outlander filming locations based around Fife, near Edinbugh.
Seven Outlander book locations, based around Inverness and the Highlands.
One historic location, involved in the 1745 Jacobite Uprising.
One very special location for Outlander fans…
The tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours (90 minutes)
Numbers are limited so we can all engage in open chat and Q&A at the end of the virtual tour presentation.
* Please note this Virtual Tour was created specifically for those who are unable to visit Scotland this year, so booking is only open to those based outside of the United Kingdom.
