FACE-TO-FACE IS REAL
Maliwalo opens gates to learners, begins in-person teaching, learning

From planning, making preparations and conducting studies to doing orientations and re-orientations to teachers, learners, parents and stakeholders, from passing the division evaluation to considering national and local government guidelines, Maliwalo National High School on March 21 implemented the limited face-to-face classes.

“Today marks the start of the limited face-to-face classes for our students from Grade 7 to 12. We are delighted that the grounds of our school have, at last, been opened to cater our students.” said Dr. Ruby Ana T. Pineda, principal of MNHS.

In her speech, Pineda commended teachers, heads, parents, learners and stakeholders for their participation, dedication and efforts in the realization of the face-to-face classes.

Meanwhile, teachers, heads and staff welcomed selected learners as early as 7:00 in the morning in the gate to educate them in sanitizing their hands and in checking their body temperature upon entering, guide them in understanding and following traffic routes and signages, and even answer their queries.

Health and safety protocols were strictly observed and maintained. The attendance of the learners was also checked. Further, mobility of the learners and teachers was monitored.

Generally, the first day of the implementation of the limited face-to-face classes was successful, according to committee heads.

Maliwalo National High School, in partnership with Tarlac City Government’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO), prepared Maliwalonians in the world of work through a webinar on March 15.

Empowering students to find their right career path, Maliwalo NHS and PESO conducted Tuesday morning a Pre-Employment Seminar: Find the Right Path in the Professional World which was livestreamed via Facebook Live.

One of the objectives of the webinar is to assist grade 12 students of Maliwalo NHS in making appropriate educational, training and career choices.

The program showcased the different chosen career paths of senior high school students especially the grade 12 work immersion students of MNHS.

“If you want a good job, you have to work at getting that job,” according to resource speaker Engr. Arnold G. Samson, PESO Manager of Tarlac City.

The webinar was spearheaded by grade 12 advisers and immersion teachers. Grade 12-Shakespeare students also helped in this activity as it is part of their work immersion project.

Meanwhile, Ms. Maria Dolores M. Oliveros, work immersion coordinator for TVL strand, expressed gratitude to all those who made the pre-employment webinar possible.

Pineda to teachers: Provide quality instruction and service to learners

Being their (students) second parents runs through our blood. She also announced that there will be additional comfort rooms and handwashing area to be constructed in strategic locations.

March 21 is the start of limited face-to-face classes in Maliwalo National High School after having been approved on March 10 by the Tarlac City Schools Division Evaluation Team.

School Governance and Operations Division Chief Leonida Garcia, TLE Education Program Supervisor Isagani Lopez, and Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS) of Tarlac West Rene Miclat came to inspect the readiness of the school for the conduct of face-to-face classes.

Evaluators checked areas such as classrooms, traffic routes and signages, hygiene and sanitation, isolation and mental health clinics, profile of the learners and preparedness of teachers.

Lopez stressed the importance of showing empathy and care to all learners who have been struggling for two years in learning because of the pandemic.

This evaluation is subsequent to the announcement that Tarlac City now befalls under Alert Level 1 in the alert level system for COVID-19 response.

Meanwhile, through an FB post, Dr. Ruby Ana T. Pineda, principal of MNHS, expressed her gratitude to MNHS Fam for their dedication and commitment to quality services for our stakeholders and learners.

This is to correct the initial post in this page that limited face-to-face will take place on March 22, after receiving a call from PSDS clarifying that March 21 is now the first day of f2f classes in Maliwalo NHS.

: Maliwalo promotes gender equality, inclusion

“Pagahom is a Cebuano term which means ‘to empower’ and this webinar intends to empower everyone of any color and gender by giving them an identity and voice.” This is how Ms. Khimberly T. Del Mar started her talk on gender inclusivity held on March 7, 2022.

: A Gender Inclusivity Webinar Empowering All Strands of Gender is a webinar discussing gender diversity, sensitivity, expression, misconceptions, and models. This is based on the premise that equality for women entails the abolition of all unequal structures and practices that perpetuate discrimination and inequality, as realized by the State in RA 9710 or The Magna Carta of Women.

Del Mar ended the webinar on the note that the purpose of the gender concepts discussed is to be inclusive and so should not force people into labels, emphasizing that gender is dynamic, therefore, time-bound and place-bound, like how for a long time Filipinos have only used the terms ‘bakla’ and ‘tomboy’ to describe their qu**rs.

This is only the first of the activities expected to be held during Maliwalo National High School’s Women’s Month Celebration for this year, following the commencing of the event on February 28, through an advocacy video prepared by senior high school students and teachers related to this year’s theme: Agenda ng Kababaihan, Tungo sa Kaunlaran, under the We Make Change Work for Women theme for National Women’s Month since 2016.

Other students, teachers, and parents have since voiced their support by using the official event frame and the hashtags and .
These are all in accordance with Division Memorandum no. 37 s. 2022, pursuant to Presidential Proclamation no. 227 s. 1988.
