Systems are so key!
*ahem*

Whenever something doesn’t go as planned, whether it’s on set or on projects, I’d say 90% of the time it’s a systems issue.

I just made that percentage up, but it’s been pretty much universally true in my experience, so I’m sticking with it.

Easy example: I’ve had PA’s forget to hit record or turn off their phones during interviews, and I’ve found that building a robust system around how my team behaves on set is simply more effective than publicly rebuking someone over a mistake (which is a crappy system, btw. Dumping shame on well-meaning colleagues is stupid. Please stop doing that.)

TL;DR Your system delivers your outcomes!

Every once in a while I get asked how I keep my cool on set when something unexpected happens, and this question is largely the reason why.

Bad attitudes, unforced errors, even seeming hostility; from my perspective it can feel like a bunch of nonsense, BUT - when I pause and ask myself this question, it suddenly becomes SO much easier to deal with the moment in front of me.

This question often reframes the entire situation, because it frees me up to stop seeing the person in front of me as the problem. Truth is, they are a human who could probably do with a little empathy.

The truth is, most people don’t spend their mornings eating their cereal while plotting of ways to p**s us off 😂.

I have never regretted asking myself this question, and nearly every case, adding positive energy into the situation was THE thing that kicked off the process of finding a solution.

So, next time you’re dealing with nonsense, ask yourself this question. It will make a difference, I promise!!

Last night was one for the books!
The is the culmination of nearly a year of dreaming, planning, and preparing alongside the & w major tech muscle provided by .

When you’ve got the right collaboration all kinds of things are possible, and it is such an absolute privilege to work with this squad. I think of so many behind-the-scenes moments where someone from each of these organizations led out in a self-sacrificial way that made the whole outcome better. When there is a high degree of organizational trust, when you are working with people who value each other as well as the outcome, you get an amazing night like last night.

For our part, we provided technical direction for the show as well as 70 custom video and audio cues - including two live performance pieces w custom click-tracked audio cues in our performers’ ears. We also worked with Esther Guillen Soto to create custom props for our live performance piece, and oversaw the premiere of an overnight edit from the event the evening before. We also worked within their branding guidelines to create content that blended seamlessly with their print and social promotion for the event.

It was an absolute honor to be a small part of the change that Selfless Love Foundation is making in the world and we can’t wait to take the next hill with you guys!

I am SO grateful that I get to work with amazing clients like .
We exist to accelerate the mission of orgs that are changing the world, and few do it better than SLF!!

For their annual competition, we produced pre-roll story videos for each finalist, a full suite of animated content for their in-person and online branding, and put together a fully online live experience for their supporters outside of West Palm Beach, complete with its own set of graphics. We topped it off with a video to recap the entire event that we premiered the following night at their .

I’ll never get tired of being a part of a crew that leverages emotional storytelling and live environments to move the ball forward for passionate teams that are changing the world!

Great stories don’t just happen by accident, and they don’t happen because of good intentions. They happen because of preparation. That means multiple days of research and pre-interviews until we’re sure we have the absolute best person to be the main character in our story.
The planning process is intense, but it’s going to be SO rewarding when the production phase begins & everyone’s on the same page.
