Ran into someone Fortune Magazine has labeled as one of the “World’s Greatest Leaders” on my way to the office this morning. He apologized for being sweaty, which I thought was superfluous given my back was soaked from biking. I appreciated the humility.

You’re welcome for the photo, Jamie Dimon. Reverse some of my old overdraft fees and we’ll call it even.

Side note - that’s the first time I’ve used the word, “superfluous”, in a sentence. You saw it here. More usage to come, so long as it’s not superfluous to do so.

Registered for full Ironman #4 today 🙌 This race is so painful (☝️me last year) and I love it so much. We get very few opportunities in life to give something our literal all - and I’ve learned that I feel most alive when I do. Stoked to suffer alongside everyone else at Ironman Maryland this September 👊 Let’s gooooooooooooo!! 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️

Was a bit anxious this week knowing my run test was gonna fall on the same day as these crazy temps. The 6% Norwegian in me prevailed 🙌🇳🇴 New PR in 10° (-2° w wind). Fun Xmas eve 5k with .agency beforehand. The dude doesn’t quit! 👊

Epic weekend at Ironman Maryland 🦀🙌 This year’s goal was sub 11 hours. Crossed the finish line in 10:48, shaving off almost an hour from last year and putting me in the top 10% overall 👊 Without a doubt could not have done this without the support and encouragement from my hot and legendary wife, 😘 (AKA the Ironwidow). Also, a big thanks to my coach .0 and the teams at and .ai 🙏 Stoked to have earned my Maryland stripes by swimming through 2.4 miles of jellyfish 👀 Ready for a new location next year.

Facebook reminded yesterday of my first ever endurance event: scootering from DC to Denver 8 years ago. It was arguably the worst 4 days of my life. Wouldn’t trade the experience for anything though! 13 hours a day at 50mph for 4 days straight - through rain, the blazing sun, and a super strange Midwestern temperature inversion no less… (was breaking icicles off the scooter each morning in mid September 🤔) Looking back, I think the only thing that kept me going was the fact that after a day or so in, there wasn’t any way to back out (would’ve been more effort to attempt to sell the scooter in a random Missouri town and then still have to fly the rest of the way home). Sometimes though, those are the best types of situations to be in. Most of us could probably use more of them. All in all, that Vespa trip has served as a good reminder for me for almost a decade now: always, always, always, bring a pair of extra gloves. 💪

Some days though, the boat feels like an inflatable with holes in it paired with oars that are about 12in too short. We’re getting after it nonetheless! Big things on the horizon with .
