What is your why?
I think my "why" is to be the woman I needed when I was a girl - I want people to see themselves in me. Life doesn't have to stop when you're disabled and that's something I want to show young girls and boys!

What is your ‘why?’

Why do I continue to advocate? I hope that one day, people with disabilities won't have to go through the awful struggles of inaccessibility that we go through today. Those of us who choose to live loudly and stand out as disability activists make the world a little easier for the next generation. I've done a lot of volunteer work in special education classrooms, teaching children to be confident in themselves, and educating the educators on what being a disabled person is actually like and what role education plays in our development. The kids always get so excited when they see an adult who also has Autism, is Deaf/Hard of Hearing, or uses sign language. They are my why.

✨New Blog✨
Hi this is Simone, the co-host of this podcast! It would be ironic for me to ask others to find their ‘why’ if I don’t explore my ’why!’ I am starting a blog series that highlights people with disabilities called “EXTRAordinary Individuals.” As a deaf person, I am driven to create content that helps eliminate the social stigma surrounding disabilities. We absolutely need more representation in the media!
If you are interested in featuring on , please send me a DM!

✨Nuevo Blog✨
