Tough day for the Irish gang. Tadgh finished P3 on the road but a bumper penalty for the Benelux championship leader dropped him to 9th. Was a mega drive coming from outside the top 10.

Jamie English got into the A final and produced a decent result.

Seniors had a much tougher day .. All shown potential and good results but unfortunately none made it into A Final.

The Driver of the day award is back! And this time we’ve a Junior and Senior winner.

First up is our Junior winner Makayla Harte who put in a mega drive all weekend, even starting the final outside the top 10, she quickly got to the top 5 and battled hard just missing out on the podium by less than half a tenth! This is the first time I’ve seen her fully belong up there as she showed speed and hunger like never before. Fully deserved in my opinion.

Our senior winner didn’t even know this was a thing! After a good while away from karting, Cormac Dunne made his come back. In one of the most or maybe the most competitive TKC Rotax 165 grid since the beginning, he came back in and won in style. Seeing how natural everything was made it a pure joy to watch.

Tullyallen Kart Club is back and what a day of racing! The domination from the Reilly brothers in Open Cadets and Junior X30 didn’t mean it was easy nor boring as all the races were bumper to bumper every lap. Rotax Max 165 seen Cormac Dunne make a return to karting and what a return with a commanding victory. R180 rounded up the 4th victory for OHR as Mark Shiels took another win. KZ was a hard battle between local Danny Hyland, Shane Crosbie and Ian Walsh. In the end local Danny took a great win on home turf. Bambino seen two future stars of Kory Lyon’s and victor Harry Thai Le go at it every lap. Junior Max seen Charlie Condy bring it home in first after an exciting start. Senior X30 may have had only 3 but what a mental race! Kenzie Martin took the dramatic win on the last lap on the final lap. Restricted cadets won by Conor Keohane and Comer Bambino Mason Monaghan.

No podcast ( sorry Gary! ) as I attempted to record one yesterday and all I done was moan. So I’ll drop a few points below.

- Some positive news is Leinster Kart Club announced its 3 dates for their summer championship. Check out their page for more info.

- Lots of Irish representing us in the British Kart Championship at Whilton Mill at the weekend. Stand out results came from Fionn McLaughlin with a fifth in Senior X30 and Sean Donegan with a 4th in T4 Junior.

- TKC Cork cancelled, what’s that mean for the future? Well officially I’ve heard nothing but word around the paddock isn’t very positive which is understandable. People have already committed to other championships instead now as the outcome isn’t looking very positive. They’re obviously trying their best so let’s hope they can rescue the championship.

- No more Kart Paddock at UKC. Quite simple this one, I ain’t selling pics which funds this all. If no sales it means no KP nor pics.

- Should we be worried about the state of the Irish motocross scene? Yup I think so as we’re not far behind. The insurance issues they’re having is scary as it could happen to us with one bad incident.. And the TKC issue won’t help it. So keep one eye on that as we may have a future like that if things aren’t improved.

- Nutts Corner old layout thoughts. I thought the full circuit that was used for Senior Rotax Max was really cool! Little sketchy especially the spin onto the pit straight but other than that was really cool to watch. The layout the other classes used was also cool, nice to see it mixed up. Best race came from Rotax 177 with a late pass from Mark to take that win.

- MI Karting announced the rules regarding entering IAME World Finals. Please check out their page if thinking of entering as it’s not as simple as previous years I believe.

That’s really it, much easier to read that than listen to me head butt a wall for 40 minutes.

Leinster Kart Club announce their Summer championship dates.

The Leinster Kart Club are delighted to launch the Athboy Karting Championship on behalf of Athboy Karting Centre.

Due to limited availability between Athboy Karting and the Irish Karting calender a reduced championship will be ran.

Please note that this calender is provisional and could change in the later summer months.

Entries will open up tonight for Round 1 of the Athboy Karting Championship.

Just a quick one regarding today.

Firstly thanks to the people who still put in orders with myself ( Burke Motorsport Photography ) and Paul Morgan Media , people didn’t have to but still did.

Secondly, yup some mess no one will deny that. But remember, it’s voluntary work.. They’ve kids of their own racing so they feel the pain of this big mess. We’ll loose people from racing and committee for sure. Lots of disappointed people who lost out on money and time. But let’s not rip people to s**t everywhere. Myself I’ve lost money, Paul, Team owners, parents etc we’re all on the same boat. Fair f***s to the people who kept spirits up today..

Let’s hope everything is sorted for Cork, we need this championship so let’s not finish it off by quitting. Look we all know there was f**k ups but it isn’t as simple as we think, I’ve heard a lot of different sides..

What was a lovely Friday turned into a wet Saturday but didn't affect the level of racing. The battles up and down every grid was fantastic to watch.

Short story - Lad was doing a league type race in the UK when he was involved in a crash. Nothing major but the other driver decided to beat the cr*p out of him and wreaked his helmet. He’s ok but helmet etc destroyed.

The person is banned and police involved..
