The sad news is just sinking in, Frankie Beverley leader of Funk and Soul outfit Maze and previously of The Butlers, has passed away at the age of 77, he'll be sorely missed.
His obituary from UK newspaper The Guardian is in the first link, in the second link a track that has been an absolute classic on the Northern Soul scene for over 40 years, from his time with The Butlers, released in 1967, "If That's What You Wanted".
