Batching your work is easily one of the most effective time management skills you can learn when it comes to running your socials. But notice how I said LEARN? When I first started to use this technique, I swear it felt like it doubled the amount of time I was spending on these tasks, which was wildly frustrating to say the least… Here are a few things to keep in mind as you batch your photos for the month:
✅Make a detailed list of not only the photos you need to take, but any and all other pertinent details. Things like products needed, production tools (lights etc..), scene set up.. something like “photo of lavender essential oils with diffuser on kitchen table. Products: Essential oil, diffuser, cute mug, flowers in vase. *make sure to wipe table down and change vase water”.
It’s not like we’re shooting photos on an elaborate set, but these little notes help to keep you organized and moving forward.
✅Be realistic about the amount of time you’re going to need. There’s nothing worse than watching the clock tick down and realizing you’re not going to get everything done. (Okay there’s a bunch of things that are worse, but you catch my drift). All of the sudden you’ve gone from feeling organized and productive to frantic and frazzled. 🤯🤬😰 This is also why making a list first helps. So, as your deciding on when your photo shoot will take place, make sure you’re taking scene set up, outfit changes, location changes (even if we’re just going from the kitchen to the living room) etc.. into consideration.
✅Make sure you have your shot BEFORE you break your scene down. It’s really difficult to recreate a scene and it’s just a frustrating time suck to go back. So take advantage of the fact that we all use digital photography and check your photos.
