“As the deer pants for the water brook, so my soul pants for You, O God.” A very familiar scripture and even a song. When the deer pants it means it is beyond thirsty. It is now desperate for water. The same thing for our very souls. When we are in a dry season with the Lord, or if something has caused us to be disappointed, discouraged or whatever means that steals our thirst for Godour souls begin to pant for God alone.

The disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24, “What will be the sign of your coming at the end of the age?” Jesus lists a few things then says, “…And then many will be offended, will betray one another, will hate one another.”

I think we can all agree we are living under a culture of offense. You can’t say anything without someone being offended. For us as believers, we must take this seriously among our brothers and sisters. Jesus makes it very clear throughout scripture the poison that the spirit of offense is. The spirit of offense has cousins. They are anger, bitterness and hatred. He said at the end of the age many, not a few, not some, but many will be offended. He takes this very seriously. A quick summary about Joe...he is really coming along very well. There is progress every single day now! God is healing him in so many ways. Ya know the one area of his life that was never tainted or bruised...his spirit and heart for God! There is going to be a great testimony coming from this man of God. There is no question about it! Thank you for continuing to pray!

The Helmet of Salvation - the battle field of the mind. Our whole lives can rage chaotic just because of what we allow ourselves to dwell on. “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” Prov. 23:7. This is the enemies favorite place to get a foothold in our lives. If he can get you to believe his narrative that, “You’re not enough.” “You don’t have what it takes.” “God has forgotten you.” “You will never find love again.” “Did God really say…” and the list can go on and on. We must be vigilant in this culture we are living in, to strap that helmet tight on our heads and speak the truth of the Word of God over our lives when the lies of the counterfeit screams in our ear! Shields Up with your shield of faith! This piece of the armor has the necessary clothing against the fiery darts that come at us on a daily bases. Those darts from the enemy are solely determined to steal your faith in God right out from underneath you. The enemy doesn’t fight fare and he will use anything and anyone to keep us from our purpose and faith in God. I wrote this chapter last while writing the book because I knew it was the most important. If we lose our faith we lose our hope, trust, peace, joy, truth…we lose it all. Shod your feet with the gospel of peace. One thing most people desperately seek iin their lives is peace. Peace in their homes, over their kids, over their health, over their finances, over their emotions, over their mind…and the list can go on and on. Well there is One who has promised the “peace that passes all understanding to guard our heart and mind in Christ Jesus.” Look at that, His peace guards both our heart and mind. He’s got us covered. Fear is probably the number one fiery dart of the enemy that wants to steal our peace. Satan knows if he can rob you of your peace, he will steal your trust in Jesus.
