Survey Wars: Can Leni still beat BBM?
Pulse Asia Research Director Ana Tabunda on Wednesday said that Vice President Leni Robredo may still be able to beat frontrunner, former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr in the next presidential survey.
In an interview, Tabunda explained that in their March 17-22, 2022 poll, the “gap between them is 32 percentage points.”
Marcos topped the said survey with 56% followed by Robredo who garnered 24%.
The former saw a 4 percentage point drop while the latter got a 9 percentage point increase compared to their scores in the firm’s February poll.
“If Bongbong Marcos loses 16 points and Leni Robredo gains 16 points, they will be statistically tied,” she said.
For the kakampink champion to oust the Tiger of the North from the top spot, Tabunda said “you need a larger than 16 percentage point decline for Bongbong Marcos and a larger 16 percentage point increase for Leni Robredo.”
When asked if the latest survey results are indicative of a clear winner in the May 9, 2022 elections, she replied, “No.We always say we should always look at the survey that’s closest to election day itself.”
Pulse Asia is set to conduct its final pre-election poll this month, revealed Tabunda, and may come out “either in the latter part of April or early May.”
With elections just 34 days away, do you think Robredo can still catch up and come out the victor?
