“Jesus is Lord” is the mantra of the church. In Philippians 2 due to the illusion to Isaiah 45 there is only one possible meaning: Jesus is YHWH!

The phrase "The name of The Lord" is used 86 times in the Old Testament. 100% of the time it refers to the divine name "Yahweh". This becomes important as the phrase gets used in the New Testament. To unlock its significance you must understand the redemptive narrative of the Bible. I break this down in the book of James.

Joel 2:32 (NASB95)
“And it will come about that whoever calls on the name of the LORD Will be delivered"

“Lord” is the common way to reference Jesus in The NT and it is also the proper way to reference the name of God, “YHWH”. Listen as we see it come together in James.

I read an article recently from Church Leaders that was posted by Church for Men and it was one of the most "ridiculous" articles I have read in a while on the Bible titled: "The Ridiculous Emphasis Christians Place on Bible Study". It essentially argues (or implies) that because Athanasius didn't make a list of the 27 books of the NT until the latter half of the 4th century the NT Scriptures must not be super important for living out the Christian life. None of the early Christians had their own personal Bibles after all.

I would hope most Christians would be bothered by this, but how would you respond? Listen to my candid thoughts here.
