Being involved in hardcore for 30 plus years has afforded me some opportunities that I am incredibly proud of.

One of those things was working with the most excellent and musically brilliant CLSM on a track included on his new album.

Its been a busy month at Lazarus, what with SubXyco, Harry Webley (Moschops) and DJ Bagpuss EP's - Thanks to all those that have picked those up! - If not, go check them out over at bandcamp!!!

I thought I'd upload some new music for Bandcamp Friday tomorrow, so there's a new EP from me as DJ Deluxe sitting around the 150-160bpm mark, and one from my Oldskool '91 style alias of Children of the Sun God.
They are live now, but Facebook probably wont show this post to people until then anyway, such are the Algae-Rhythms.

Baggy's BACK!!! DJ Bagpuss returns to the label with his gritty hardcore style. Energy Flow has been getting plays all over the internet radios, and is set to be a standout release for him. Included are also a remix (I prefer to the original, Baggy doesn't haha) Alongside a happier cut called Good Vibes and then a journey into the darker side of his psyche with a more up-tempo 808 and amen fuelled rinse called 'Something in the Dark'

I hope you enjoy this one, its a return to the oldskool in a newskool way. Ruff, grimy and hard, all sprinkled with a little bit of good vibes.

Moschops 'Fat Drab EP' is a return to his love of old-skool hardcore following years of hip hop production.
With knowledge gained from that experience the EP was created with musicality and originality in mind, combining breakbeats, rave stabs and vocals into exciting uptempo arrangements (154-161bpm).
The challenge to be innovative with the hardcore genre motivates Moschops to boot up his studio, and the rush of looping and experimenting with original samples to make fresh sonic discoveries is often the inspiration behind the music.

2024 also sees the vinyl release of Moschops 'Skratch Fossils 2' on Cut and Paste Records, a record full of high energy sounds to scratch in the skipless format (133.33bpm) so if you're into that, got check it out!!!

So......

Calling The Hardcore #013 was a bucket list gig for me on Friday.

I got to play a set that was totally new music, and 90% self-produced. There are not many promoters out there that allow DJ's to showcase their productions and give them the free reign that sometimes, the creatives need.

So, with that said, I'd like to say a few thanks to some people.

Hugely and sincerely, Sammy Purcell. What a promoter. Never a missed beat on communication, delivered exactly what was promised and never imposed any restrictions on me as an artist and as a DJ. Thank you so so much.

To all the people that gave me incredible feedback on my music and my set, (best set of the night, apparently!), I am humbled. I am blown away by the energy in the room, and the loyalty many people gave me by staying until my set was done. I hope to repay that again by producing more music for the dancefloor, and more memories because of it. You guys made me feel like a headliner. Thank you.

I saw so many familiar faces, friends, old and new, but all with a love of the sound and the culture. It was an amazing experience.

But most of all to my amazingly supportive better half Sue. She literally makes things happen for me. She drives me, encourages me and supports me like no other. Thank you

So, I'm trying to grow my (so far neglected) YouTube channel.

Could any kind hearted people help me out with clicking that Subscribe button. First goal is to get to 100. (I'm on 43!)

I'm self learning video editing to go alongside the musical productions up there, but I will also be doing basic production tips, sound design, mixing and mastering techniques too. Along with launching a new clothing brand and tying it all together.

Lots of ideas, lots of potential.

Hello everyone

Heres another free album!!! This is more of the stuff that I released on my previous label Rogue Squadrion. I had to shut the label down through to differences of opinions from my partner at the time, but I have managed to keep the rights to the music, so here is probably the last of the RS series.
