One Man Arrested –Firearm, Ammo Seized

One man was arrested and a firearm and a magazine with eight rounds of 40 calibre ammunition were seized during an exercise conducted in the Eastern Division on Tuesday 6th October, 2020.

The exercise coordinated by Snr Supt Aguilal and conducted in the Sangre Grande District between 1pm and 4pm was supervised by Sgt Harper and Cpl Ramnarine and included Officers of Sangre Grande Criminal Investigation Department and Special Operations Unit.

During the exercise, four houses were searched and one person was arrested when a search warrant was executed at a house on Coronation Road, Upper Sangre Grande.

During the search one Walter P99 40 calibre pistol serial, fitted with a magazine with eight rounds 40 calibre ammunition was found in the home. A male tenant of the house was arrested and the items seized.

PC Budhooram is continuing enquiries.
