US President Donald Trump on Monday signed into law legislation to name a Texas post office after slain Sikh police officer Sandeep Singh Dhaliwal, who was gunned down in the line of duty during a routine traffic stop in Houston a year ago. The post office named after Dhaliwal in Houston is only the second US post office to be named after an Indian American. The first one was named after the first Indian American Congressman Dalip Singh Saund in Southern California in 2006.

Farmer unions protesting against the three agriculture laws on said that they will decide their next course of action in the next two-three days, after the Supreme Court earlier this week pointed out it was thinking of setting up an “impartial and independent” panel of agriculture experts and peasants’ unions to resolve the deadlock. Farmer leaders said discussions among unions are currently underway to decide their strategy, adding that they are also seeking legal opinion on the matter. Meanwhile in Karnal, on the call given by various farmers’ unions, farmers closed the Bastara toll plaza on NH-44 and Peont toll plaza on Karnal-Jind National Highway-709A.
