Lalah Hathaway is one of the great voices of our time. She earned her first career GRAMMY® in 2013 for “Best R&B Performance” for "Something" with Snarky Puppy. The following three years, she earned “Best Traditional R&B Performance” at the GRAMMY® for "Jesus Children" (2014), "Little Ghetto Boy" (2015), and "Angel" (2016). She has consistently topped the R&B/Hip-Hop albums charts throughout her distinguished career.
Lalah is also the daughter of American Soul singer and musician, Donny Hathaway. According to her website, in March 2020, Lalah is working on a studio entitled, "L.A.L.A.H. rebirth.”
Lalah believes in giving back to her community. She has mentored students via the Elevate Hope Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing abused and abandoned children an alternative method of therapy through music and the arts.

Three-time GRAMMY® award-winning drummer, producer, and educator, Terri Lyne Carrington started her professional career in Massachusetts at ten years old when she became the youngest person to receive a union card in Boston. She was featured as a “kid wonder” in many publications and on local and national TV shows.
In 2011, she released the GRAMMY®Award-winning album, The Mosaic Project, featuring a cast of all-star women instrumentalists and vocalists, and in 2013 she released, Money Jungle: Provocative In Blue, which also earned a GRAMMY® Award, establishing her as the first woman ever to win in the “Best Jazz Instrumental Album” category.
Her current band project, Waiting Game, in collaboration with Aaron Parks and Matthew Stevens, was galvanized by seismic changes in the ever-evolving social and political landscape. The music expresses an unflinching, inclusive, and compassionate view of humanity’s breaks and bonds through an eclectic program melding jazz, R&B, indie rock, contemporary improvisation, and hip-hop.
Terri Lyne serves as Founder and Artistic Director of the Berklee College Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice and as Artistic Director of The Carr Center, Detroit, MI. She is also a 2019 recipient of the prestigious, Doris Duke Artist Award.

In 2005 Brenda collaborated with Allee Willis and Stephen Bray to write the Broadway score to “The Color Purple.” From its opening night, “The Color Purple” became a seminal presence as one of 2006’s top-grossing shows. Throughout her career, Brenda has collaborated with artists like Sting, Lee Ritenour, Patti Austin, Mary J. Blige,Joe Cocker, Roberta Flack, Earth, Wind & Fire Ivan Lins, and Stevie Wonder; just to name a few.
The Color Purple had its second run on Broadway in 2015. In 2017, the show received two Tony awards: "Best Revival of a Musical,” "Best Actress," and won the GRAMMY Award for “Best Musical Theater Album.”
As one of the recording industry’s treasures, Brenda has found success traveling the twisted road and scaling the musical divides of Rock, Pop, R&B, Jazz, and latin.
Brenda considers herself a citizen of the world and much of her writing is about peace and love for all people. It is the motivating force behind everything that she does. Her hope is that her music helps to bring people together.

Maya Angelou was an American poet, memoirist, and civil rights activist. Only the second American poet in history to be invited to recite at a presidential inauguration, she read her powerful poem "On The Pulse of Morning" at the 1993 inauguration of President Bill Clinton.
Ms. Angelou has published a total of seven autobiographies, including her most famous, 1969's "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings," as well as three books of essays and several books of poetry.
Ms. Angelou also authored numerous plays, movies, and television shows spanning more than 50 years. She received dozens of awards and more than 50 honorary degrees. Ms. Angelou passed away in 2014 at the age of 86, leaving a legacy that has inspired a new generation of artists, activists, and writers.
