On the directive of the Udu local government council Peace and Security Committee, the Chairman - Hon. Chief Jite Brown has directed that this message should go down to all Communities in Udu for people to show interest in the ongoing Police and Army Recruitment. The Chairman has directed a special unit headed by the Ighelle Udu President to assist people to apply for both recruitment. We will be reaching out to the leadership of the Communities to locally announce it. Meanwhile, contact the Ighelle Udu President on 08068846733 for further information.

Pls note: the council shall take care of logistics for the application. Pls people are here by encouraged to come out and show interest as it has been confirmed that Udu/Delta State quota is always used up by other states and local governments because our people don't show interest whenever these recruitment are done.

Jite Gets Accolades As Esiso Commissions Multipurpose Hall In Udu

The Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council Hon. Chief Jite Brown received accolades yesterday Monday 16/10/23 as the Delta State Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief (Barr.) Kingsley Esiso commissioned the ultra modern Brooklyn Park Executive Multipurpose Hall built by Hon. Chief Jite Brown in Otor-Udu, Udu Local Government Area in Delta State.

Esiso while thanking the Udu Council's Boss for his developmental strides said that PDP will take back Udu Local Government from the opposition party. According to Esiso, the Udu Local Government Chairman, Hon. Jite Brown, did not lose the election in Udu, but PDP lost the election to the All Progressives Congress. “We lost the election in Udu temporarily and very soon we will take it back”, the PDP Chairman reiterated.

On his part the Chairman of Udu Local Government Area, Hon. Jite Brown, in his welcome address, stated: “In-line with the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE agenda, we commission the Brooklyn Park/Exco Multi-Purpose Hall Building & Solar Flood Lights here at the headquarters of Udu Local Government Area.

The edifice, will address accessible contact with all supervisors, an improved state of convenience for registry marriages, larger conference room for governmental meetings, amongst others.”

He assured the people of Udu Local Government that his administration will continue to bring meaningful infrastructural projects within available resources.

The Udu Council Boss, thanked the people of Udu, members of his Exco, the Peoples Democratic Party, the Ovie of Udu and Brooklyn Park United Kingdom for their support. He thanked God for making the commissioning exercise a reality.

The Supervisor for Finance in the Council, Hon. Lawson Oghoifor, thanked the Chairman for the multi-purpose hall, explaining that the hall contains an office for each supervisor.

Udu Council Boss Rewards Dedicated Road Safety warden Volunteers.

The Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Hon. Chief Jite Brown (JP), recently honored dedicated road safety warden volunteers who controls traffic at flash points in Udu Local Government. The commendation and cash donation were presented at the Local Government Secretariat by the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon. Barrister Mrs. Eloho Awinoron, and this gesture received applause from everyone present. Hon. Awinoron encouraged others to follow the example of these selfless individuals, emphasizing that Hon. Chief Jite's administration values and rewards hard work. The volunteers who received recognition were spotted on duty at various locations, including the Udu Bridge, Tipper Garage among other roads in Udu.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Pa. John Isagbada, a physically challenged who regularly serves on the Udu bridge, expressed his gratitude to the Udu Council Chairman for recognizing their efforts. He stated that this reward would motivate them to continue their dedicated service. In a touching moment, the children of one of the volunteers, who is now deceased, received the cash reward on behalf of their late mother. Until her passing away she was consistently observed providing selfless service at the bad spot near Tipper Garage, alongside a physically challenged who is also a beneficiary.

Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori (Executive Governor of Delta State) on the auspicious occasion of the 32nd creation anniversary of Delta State.He made this known during a brief chat with news men in Asaba, Delta State Capital.

He acknowledged the fact that despite the challenges that we as a State have encountered over the years since it's creation, we have remained one indivisible state bounded by love.

GORU HOSTS FORUM OF UDU COMMUNITIES PRESIDENTS TO A PEACE-BUILDING PARLEY.

The Commissioner representing Udu, Ughelli South, Uvwie and Urhobos of Warri South on the board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Hon. Karo Jonathan Goru, during the early hours of this morning hosted the forum of Presidents of Udu Communities led by Evang. Emmanuel Kpomalefe to a Peace-building Conference at his office.

During the meeting, the DESOPADEC Commissioner condemned the issuance of an ultimatum by some faceless mischief makers to members of Izon ethnic Nationality resident in Udu. He described it as the handiwork of War-mongers and mischief makers whose main aim is to cause chaos and disharmony between Urhobo and Izon ethnic groups. He concluded by admonishing all Community leaders in Udu to ensure to always fish out such mischief makers and deal with them accordingly.

Evang. Emmanuel Kpomalefe, the Chairman of the forum of Presidents of Udu Communities, during his speech, emphasized that no Udu Community is party to the obnoxious ultimatum. He stated that Udu people are peace loving and that there is no cause for alarm thereby assuring all residents (both indigenes and non-indigenes) to ignore the said ultimatum.

Highpoints of the occasion centered on the unanimous refutal of the obnoxious ultimatum published by yet to be known mischief makers.

The clearing of the disputed land commenced yesterday.

GORU COMMENDS ATAIFO FAMILY OVER RECEPTION CEREMONY AT EGINI TOWN.

The Commissioner representing Udu, Ughelli South, Uvwie and Urhobos of Warri South LGAs on the Board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Hon. Karo Jonathan Goru, has commended the entire members of the Ataifo family of Egini Town in Udu LGA of Delta State over yesterday's reception ceremony organized in honour of him and Hon. (Chief) Taleb Tebite regarding their appointment into the Board of DESOPADEC. Chief Taleb Tebite who was not physically present at the ceremony due to unforeseen contingencies was represented by Chief Matthew Kode.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of Senator Emmanuel Aghwariavwodo - Senior Political Adviser to the Governor of Delta State; Hon. Collaborative Efforts Needed To End Aladja/Ogbe-Ijaw Crisis, Says UUC President-General – UPARAN

The President-General of the Union of Udu Communities (UUC), Udu kingdom High Chief Moses Uparan (JP) has said that collaborative efforts were needed to end the aged long crisis between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijaw communities.

Speaking at the weekend when he led delegation of UUC on a courtesy visit to the President General of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU Worldwide, Olorogun (Barrister) Ese Gam Oweh and members of his executives, High Chief Moses Uparan (JP) harped on the need to find a lasting solution to the crisis between the two neighbouring communities while appealing to the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.

He disclosed that the courstey visit was also to formally present his letter of introduction from HRM Owhorhu 1, Dr. Barr. E. B. O. Delekpe JP, the Ovie of Udu kingdom as the President General of UUC, Udu Kingdom, Udu Local Government Area of the State.

Responding, the President General of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Worldwide, Olorogun (Barrister) Ese Gam Oweh, commended members of the UUC executive for the visit, describing it as timely.

He retiraited that UPU was willing to work with UUC, Udu kingdom and the Forum of Presidents General of the Urhobo Kingdoms and assured the Governor’s intervention, in bringing permanent peace between the two warring communities.

GORU CONDEMNS THE RESURGENCE OF ALADJA/OGBE-IZON COMMUNAL CONFLICT.

The Commissioner representing the people of Udu, Ughelli South, Uvwie and Urhobos of Warri-South on the board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Hon. Karo Jonathan Goru, has strongly condemned the renewed hostilities between Aladja Community in Udu LGA and their neighbouring Ogbe-Izon Community in Warri South-West LGA both in Delta State.

The DESOPADEC Commissioner, while addressing Pressmen last night at his residence, lamented over the renewed hostilities concerning the three-decade-long boundary dispute which has affected both Communities adversely in many ways.

"The renewed hostilities between Aladja and Ogbe-Izon Communities is highly condemnable owing to the fact that conflicts of this nature don't bring any good with it but rather unreckonable agony; Both parties should please sheath their swords and give peace a chance as the current hostilities will only resort to retardation in the pace of growth and development in these Communities." Goru postulated.

"We can't afford to lose any more lives to this conflict as we need to always endeavor to be our brother's keeper irrespective of ethnic/racial divide. No dispute has ever been resolved at the battlefield but rather through concert. The current situation is already a precarious one that needs urgent redemption. War only gives birth to poverty, underdevelopment, instability, insecurity, hunger, anguish, death, chaos and etc." He added

"Though am very optimistic that the current administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori would surely find lasting solution to the situation, Nevertheless, am hereby appealing for rapid intervention as a stitch in time saves nine." He concluded.

The president General of Ovwian Community, ( the most p peaceful community in Delta state) Hon. (Chief) Amb Frank Muwhen Magamu , has congratulated Dcn. Raymond Edijala on the occasion of his birthday anniversary.

In a congratulatory message made available to pressmen, Magamu, expressed gratitude to God for the life, Transition Committee, Udu Local Government Council.

The president General described Deacon Edijala as a good jolly fellow with a great sense of humour in the political space in Udu in particular and Delta State at large.

OVWIAN COMMUNITY LAUNCHES REFUGEE CAMP FOR DISPLACED PERSONS OVER ALADJA/OGBE-IZON COMMUNAL CLASHES.
..Provides accommodation and relief materials.
.. Appeals for swift intervention by Delta State government.

Authorities of Ovwian Community under the leadership of the President-General, Chief Frank Magamu Muwhen, yesterday launched a refugee camp to cater for displaced persons from Aladja Community over the resurgence of the Aladja/Ogbe-Izon communal clashes.

The opening of the Refugee Camp became necessary owing to the influx of Aladja residents into Ovwian Town due to the resurgence of the Aladja/Ogbe-Izon communal clashes since last week. Ovwian Community authorities in order to ensure succour provided accomodation and relief materials (food, clothing, and medication) for the displaced persons.

The President General of Ovwian Community, Chief Frank Magamu Muwhen, used the opportunity in appealing to both Aladja and Ogbe-Izon Communities to sheath their swords and embrace peace. He also called on Delta State government to do everything necessary within the shortest possible time in ending the precarious situation brought about by the Communal Crisis. According to Chief Muwhen, the influx of Refugees may result to insecurity in neighbouring Communities.

GORU PAYS UDU AND OKERE-URHOBO MONARCHS FAMILIARISATION VISIT

****Assured the royal fathers of rapid development of oil producing Communities

Hon. Karo Jonathan Goru, the Commissioner representing Udu, Ughelli South, Uvwie and Urhobos of Warri South LGA, on the board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), yesterday, pays a familiarisation visit to the royal fathers of Udu and Okere-Urhobo Kingdoms in Udu and Warri-South Local Government Area.

The Ovie of Udu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Barr. Bethel Delegbe JP, Owhuru 1, during the visit to his Palace, began by commending Hon. Karo Goru for the humility of deeming it wise to recognize/identify with the palace within such a short while after his appointment as DESOPADEC Commissioner. He assured the Commissioner that he would not hesitate to give him needed support whenever necessary.

While at the palace of His Royal Majesty Morris Ogheneochuko Eyekpimi Owhotemu 11, the Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom in Warri-South LGA, the monarch gave the DESOPADEC Commissioner a warm reception and admonished him make such visit more frequent. The royal father also gave the Commissioner his royal blessing.

During the visit to the Palace of these royal fathers, the DESOPADEC Commissioner noted that the visit was necessitated by the need to familiarize with the royal fathers of his mandate areas. According to him, "It's an avenue to rapport/identify with the royal fathers regarding the growth and development of my mandate areas."
