As business owners, social media plays a big part in growing our following and reaching new people! Instagram can be a great tool to help you get there if you’re using it right.

Do you have a goal to grow your Instagram following and engagement in 2020? Here are my top tips!

✨ Post great content consistently

Post to your feed at least 3-4x per week and to your stories daily.

✨Use the right hashtags

Do hashtag research! Pick hashtags that have a variety of followers (you don’t want every one to have 2 million followers or your posts will just get lost). Some hashtags will be more general, but pick some more niche ones too. Use about 15-20 per post.

✨Build real relationships

Engage in the DMs, interact on stories, reply to comments and comment on other people’s posts! This is the absolute biggest must.

Tip Tuesday!
Batch your social media content.
As a business owner, it can be easy to get too caught up in other things to remember to post on social media.
But social media is a super important part of your business. It gives you the ability to grow your audience, engage with them, and keep them in the know!!
Set aside one day a week, and sit down and create all of your social media posts for that week at once. Your content will be more cohesive, and you are so much more likely to be consistent!

Do you get overwhelmed sometimes with social media? 😫

Creating content for your business pages on all platforms can be very time consuming! If you're somewhat new to using social media for business, I recommend focusing on ONE platform to start out. It should be a platform that your audience uses often.

Get really comfortable on that one platform. Once you are consistently posting there and feel good about it, add another platform! Maybe you start off with Facebook, and then after a month or so of consistent posting, you add in Pinterest.

The goal is to not overwhelm yourself and stay consistent. 👌

You may be wondering, "What is a 'virtual assistant' anyway? I've never even heard of that." 🤨

In short, a virtual assistant (VA for short) is somebody who helps entrepreneurs with various aspects of their business.

I’m spending my morning at the river walk today 💜 One of my favorite places when the weather is this perfect. I started with a nice mile and a half walk, now going to get a little work done in this beautiful spot, and then I will walk the mile and a half back to my car. Coming out here is always so refreshing.

Tip Tuesday! ✨


One way to help you stay organized in your business or your life is to create workflows.


Don't know what a workflow is? 🤷‍♀️ It's basically a series of tasks that need to be completed to reach a certain end goal. They eventually turn into a kind of routine when done regularly. If you're the kind of person that loves checking off your to-do lists, workflows will be your best friend!


In your personal life, maybe you have a "workflow" for your weekly grocery shopping. Just as a quick example, it could look something like this:

1. Meal plan for the week.
2. Clean out the fridge.
3. Check for staple foods and meal ingredients you are missing.
4. Make a grocery list including what you need for your meals and any staples you need to re-stock.
5. Go to the store and purchase the items on the list.
6. Put groceries away.

**I definitely need to follow this sample workflow because my groceries are NOT well planned, ha...But just to give you an idea and relate it to everyday life! 😉

Do you have trouble keeping track of all the things? 😫


As entrepreneurs, there is a lot to think about and plan! I used to be one of those people who was all about a paper planner.


But most of the time, I would use it for a few months, and then fall off the bandwagon.


This year, I got more into electronic task management, and I have become obsessed with a couple of systems that I couldn't run my business without!


1. Trello
2. Airtable


I use Trello for anything to-do list related. I have a separate list for each client, and my tasks for each client live there.


I even have a list for "completed tasks" so I can move tasks I have finished into that, and see everything I have accomplished!


Trello is also fantastic for team management, if you have other people in your business with you!


Airtable is a bit different...It allows you to create beautiful spreadsheets and you can easily track progress or check off tasks within these spreadsheets.


I use Airtable specifically for planning and tracking all of my social media content, specifically for Pinterest.


I have my Pinterest content all laid out in a spreadsheet there, which makes scheduling it super simple!


If you haven't started using a task management system yet and you feel like you are all over the place, try Trello and Airtable out! You won't regret it!
