📢 Albirex Niigata Singapore has announced a contract extension for coach Kazuaki Yoshinaga.

🇯🇵 The 55-year-old will continue to lead the White Swans for the 2024 season.

📝 Grandstand understands that the four-time Coach of the Year has penned a 1-year deal, which will run to the end of the next season.

💬 Nick-named 'King Kazu', the Japanese expressed his gratitude to the club as they look to shift their focus on a Singaporean core, as part of their localisation plans.

🇸🇬 Just 2 weeks ago at the FAS Awards Night, it was reported that he was in touch with FAS, amongst other candidates, for the national coach position.

⚠️ The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) is inviting interested parties to submit proposals to participate as the tenth club in the Singapore Premier League (SPL).

⚽ Those who wish to be considered may view the RFP details at
https://www.fas.org.sg/about-fas/tenders/ and must submit their expression of interest electronically to [email protected] by 20 December 2023, 1800hrs.

⬆️ By expanding the league’s participation, FAS aim to raise the level of professional football in Singapore by attracting top football talent and garnering significant fan engagement.

🏆 Singapore Cup Semi-Final (First Leg)

⚡ Honours even at Our Tampines Hub as Tampines Rovers came back twice to salvage a late 3-3 draw with the Lion City Sailors.

🐆 Advantage Hougang in the other semi-final, as Maksimovic netted the solitary goal to give the cup-holders a 1-0 lead.

⚓ With the final 2 round of Group Stage fixtures left to go, the Sailors are still within touching distance of an automatic qualifying spot.

🏆 The Final Four!

⚡ Tampines Rovers secured the last semi-final spot in this year's Singapore Cup, after holding Champions Albirex to a 1-1 draw last evening.

🔥 The Stags will now face rivals LCS in a two-legged semis, while cup-holders Hougang take on Brunei DPMM.

🏆 Albirex & Sailors dominate FAS Awards Night 2023

🥇 Both club clinched top accolades at the annual event which honour the brightest talents of the year and honour the achievements of members of the football fraternity.

🇧🇪 It was a double win for by Maxime Lestienne, as the Belgian was crowned (SPL) Player of the Year, on top of his Golden Boot award.

🇯🇵 Albirex's Kazuaki Yoshinaga took home Coach of the Year award, for a record-breaking fourth time, while forward Seia Kunori was named AIA Young Player of the Year.

🇸🇬 Could we see a Singaporean F1 driver in the future?

🏎️ 16-year old Christian Ho has clinched his second win of the 2023 Spanish Formula 4 championship in Valencia on Sunday (Oct 15), rising to second in the drivers’ championship with just one round of racing to go.

🏆 The title will now be decided in the season finale at the iconic Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Nov 11 and 12 with Ho poised to improve on his 13th position last year.

🛡️ Christian's manager Morgan Caron, who managed Ferrari F1 driver Charles Leclerc for five years, praised him for showing tremendous potential since making the step up to single-seater racing and confirmed his participation in the Eurocup-3 series next season with Campos Racing.

🏁 In 2018, Christian moved to Milan to train and 18 months later, he became the first Asian to win a race in the Deutsche Kart Meisterschaft (DKM) GermanKarting Championship series when he was 12.

⭐ Following a successful karting journey, during which he came in second in the FIA Karting Academy Trophy and the German Junior championship in OK-Junior karts in 2019, he made the step up to F4 racing last year and has been consistently making waves in
the industry.

💬 On the season finale in Barcelona, Ho added: “My approach to the final round will be the same approach I take to every other round which is to try and win every race and be the quickest."

🇸🇬 The Lions will travel to South Korea next month to take on the 26th-ranked side in the world as they continue their World Cup Qualifying journey.

🦁 Earlier today, Singapore edged out Guam 1-0, courtesy of a goal from substitute Shawal Anuar to seal a 3-1 aggregate victory and their passage to the third round.

🏟️ Over the course of the campaign, the National Stadium will be expected to play host to current AFF Champions - Thailand, followed by visits from the Chinese & Koreans in 2024.

📢 Albirex Niigata (S) has announced the launch of - RISING STAR Singapore, a youth development project, in collaboration with K.M.S.K.
Deinze to provide young Singaporean players with the opportunities to challenge themselves.

⚽ Trials will be held over 3 days for players to join the Albirex Niigata FC (S)' COE U15 and U17
team.

🇧🇪 Selected outstanding
players will be offered the opportunity to participate in a short-term football
study abroad in Belgium in 2024.

🇸🇬 Aligned with the club's localisation effort next season, they aim to contribute to the
development of football in Singapore by providing an opportunity for aspiring youth talents to become professional players in Singapore to study in Europe.

🪄 Selection will be at the Jurong East Stadium on 11th and 12th November, with the final selection round on the 19th by the Sports Director & Academy Director from Deinze.

⚽ According to media reports, Indonesia is in talks about a possible joint-bid alongside Australia, Malaysia & Singapore to host the 2034 World Cup.
