Cost of living difference:
Latvia has an average cost of living that is 55% less than the USA.

Cost of rent:
A one bedroom/one bathroom furnished apartment in the city starts at 309 USD. That’s a 300ish square foot apartment.

Cost of travel:
a flight when booked from dtw to Iceland is an average of 300-400 USD. Then from Iceland to Riga, Latvia is around 500 USD. Those are round trip prices as well.
When booking from DTW to RIX directly the price is 1,800 to 2,000 USD.
