Inspiring story of Challenges in life & how possible it is to overcome them.🙏🏻🙏🏻
FROM ALCOHOLIC TO REVEREND.
My name is Chishimba Brian. My mother died when I was only 5 years old and my Grandmother became my mother, she took care of me in her struggles with life and hoped for the best for my life especially in my academic journey, she spoke highly of me looking at the fact that I was an academic genius, been one of the best students at both primary and junior secondary schools.
I remember my grandmother crying bitterly when she heard that I was suspended from Hillcrest National Technical School because of drinking alcohol, it was at Hillcrest where I started drinking alcohol and taking ma*****na, my grandma kept on praying for me even if I lost focus in life and became a j***y, during my 14 years of struggle with alcohol and drugs, I became a nuisance not only to my grandmother but to every family member, this rendered me to be problem even to society such that i lost my job in the government, suffered divorce, In and out of police cells, went to prison for destruction of campaign materials under the influence of intoxicants, admitted to Chainama Hospital for more than 5 times where I was diagnosed with Alcohol Abuse Mental Disorder, suffered from Brain Atrophy and liver damage due to excessive abuse of alcohol, failed to finish my degree at CBU some 17 years ago due to the addiction.
But today, I give thank to God who gives us so many chances in Christ Jesus am now clean from the addiction carrying a testimony of 6 years 9 months 28 days Alcohol and Drug Sobriety. I have now remarried with a baby boy, I have been ordained as Reverend and now a 3rd year student at Levy Mwanawasa Medical University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mental Health and Clinical Psychiatry, a course connected to my passion and calling God predestined for my life on Earth. My grandmother who is my mum is the happiest woman in the world.
It can only be God. The grace is sufficient.
