Part ii. || The Man Behind the Art

Kelvin Makatia is an artist based in Kakamega, Kenya. He started drawing at a very young age and enjoyed watching other artists working. This is how he sharpened his gift and learned more skills. He remembers the first time he learned how to draw eyes and it really amazed him because in the past he would only put two dots as eyes! He only started to take art seriously in 2013 when he drew an elephant for his cousin and his Uncle Tony and Aunt Elavaya praised his artwork and really encouraged him to pursue it. Furthermore, a story that his Aunt Elavaya told him about his father, who was also good at art, inspired him to pursue art even more.

He is currently studying Computer Science and he hopes that he can make his work as an artist recognized worldwide!
