In the morning, Bhagawan inaugurates the Sri Sathya Sai Drinking Water Project for Anantapur town in the Poornachandra Auditorium. The occasion was presided by the then Prime Minister of India Sri PV Narasimha Rao and the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Sri Chandrababu Naidu. After Vedam invocation by students of the Sri Sathya Sai Primary School, Dr. KR Prasad, member of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Sri K Chakravarthi, then Secretary of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust and manager of the Sri Sathya Sai Drinking Water Project, and Sri Chandrababu Naidu address the mammoth gathering. The Prime Minister then inaugurates the water project, upon which a live audio message is broadcast from the devotees of Anantapur who express their gratitude to Bhagawan for this Divine gift of love to them. After the Prime Minister's brief address, Bhagawan delivers His Divine Discourse in which He emphasizes the importance of selfless service, national unity, and cooperation with the government in all good work. In the evening, the students of Sri Sathya Sai Balvikas, SSSSO, India, present a drama on the childhood leelas of Lord Krishna in the Poornachandra Auditorium, much to the delight of Bhagawan and the devotees assembled.

This day marked a historic day, the first ever Ladies Day celebrated in the Divine Presence. Swami arrives in procession the Poornachandra Auditorium in a glisteneing golden-yellow robe, with a large group of long-time Mahila devotees following Him also in gold...truly a sight for the gods! After enjoying bhajans sung by the lady devotees, Prof Jayalakshmi Gopinath addresses the crowd, offering her gratitude to Swami for this honor bestowed on all women of the world. Swami then distributes cows to several of the ladies as a token of His love and respect for them. In the evening, Vedic invocation by students of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Anantapur campus, is followed by talks by Smt. Sarla Shah, Justice Padma Kastagir, Smt. Nirapama Prasad, Prof Jayalakshmi Gopinath, and Mrs. Raghubir Kaur. Swami then delivers His Divine Discourse, explaining the value of women in upholding Dharma in society and their responsibility in shaping future generations of ideal citizens. After His Discourse, a balvikas student, K*m. Anuradha, presents a short dance recital at His Lotus Feet. This is followed by a cultural presentation led by Smt. Anjali Devi and Smt. P Susheela.

On the occasion of the 14th Convocation of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning at the Hill View Stadium, Bhagawan arrives in procession in a royal red robe alongside the then Finance Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, as well as the faculty and governing body of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning. The then Vice Chancellor of the institute Dr. K Hanumanthappa administers the convocation oath, after which Swami distributes gold medals and PhD degrees to the deserving candidates. Dr. Manmohan Singh then delivers his convocation address, followed by Swami's Divine Discourse wherein He stresses the need for a strong character which alone can make make a human being truly educated and a society prosper. The function ends with the singing of the Indian national anthem and Bhagawan's departure from the stadium.
