Jesus did not claim to be just a prophet or a good teacher. He insisted that He is the only way to God.

This was an arrogant claim for Jesus to make—unless it is true.

If it is true, and Jesus is who He said He is—the Word of God in human flesh—then He is the only one in history who is in the unique position to save us and restore us to God. This claim is what separates Him from all other prophets or “holy men” of other religions. He is Lord. He is God in person.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us...

Although sin destroys you and separates you from God, He still loves you and desires an intimate relationship with you. He longs to restore your identity as His child.

As a child of God you do not have to look to others or yourself to “fix” everything. You can relax and be secure in your role as His child.

Your responsibilities as God’s child are to listen to Him, trust Him and obey Him. When you do this, you can trust Him with the outcomes.

To fully understand the implications of being a child of God, you must realize that if every role you have assumed in life was stripped away, if every relationship ended that you have enjoyed, if everything you thought important was gone—it would not change who you are.

God is still your Father and you are still His child.

Because of Who He is and your identity in Him, you still have hope, a future, and a purpose. Even if death claims your body, you do not need to fear, because you will be with Him forever.
