[ Years of Denial ]

Years of Denial is the project of French musician Jerome Tcherneyan, former times drummer of cult British band Piano Magic and music producer since 1997, and Czech performance & music artist, singer-songwriter & poet Barkosina Hanusova. Active since 2016, the duo has become known across the globe for their well-crafted sharp productions and electrifying live performances.

Utilizing hardware and a plethora of dub devices combined with Barkosina’s unmistakable vocals, the pair revisit the dark corners of post-punk, goth, new beat, EBM, industrial, and rave culture. Their live shows inject rhythmic beats and pulsating arpeggios with heavy electronics fused with a spacey psychedelic sonic treatment. The duo operates on the dance floor with a powerful performative representation creating an excursive, unforgettable experience.

Well known for their fruitful discography, much of which is created inside the infamous Ark of Noise studios, the project‘s prolific output includes a variety of releases on Death & Leisure, Pinkman, and Khemia, to name a few, not to mention the front-runner 2xLP Su***de Disco (Veyl 2019), an extraordinary offering that set fire to dance floors everywhere and is also the name the duo coined to describe their sound. The release spawned a massive remix EP featuring reworks from Silent Servant, Orphx, Broken English Club, and Alexey Volkov.

In 2023 YOD releases Su***de Disco II (Veyl), a triumphant return, elevating their distinct sound and delivering 12 all-new tracks, which will also return them to the live stage to continue to captivate and further build on the project’s form and legacy.

[ STATIQBLOOM ]

Statiqbloom is the brainchild of Fade Kainer. A project that began in 2014 in Brooklyn NYC, later becoming a duo with Denman C. Anderson (2016-2020). Fade was a member of the industrial doom band Batillus, noise synth dread project Theologian, and he has also worked with Jarboe (ex-Swans) and Attila Csihar (Mayhem, SunnO)))).

Currently based in Berlin, he is combining hardware and software in creating noisy modular-engineered industrial techno and building live sets by meshing heavy hard industrialised rhythms with unfolding blackened atmospheres and disorienting vocals.

Statiqbloom has released on Sonic Groove, Metropolis Records, Synthicide and Desire Records.

Angel Attack is a Boston/ London based producer, DJ, founder of the label House of Reptile & resident at INFRA Boston. Angel Attack is known for his bewitching sound and dark-tinted aesthetic, bleeding into techno, electro, psy-techno & more, masterfully layered in 3 and 4 decks sets. Following an incredible 2023 sharing the decks with the likes of Phase Fatale, Pablo Bozzi, Quelza & more, Angel Attack has a busy 2024 ahead, with a new solo release and his debut Live Set in the making.

Berlin based Producer/Dj Douglas Lee’s project ‘An-i is the outcome of melding the aesthetics of 80’s synth and industrial sounds alongside the thumping forward momentum of techno.
An-i has released 3 records for Veronica Vasicka’s Minimal Wave/Cititrax label and can also be seen on many one-off’s comps and collaborations with Alessandro Adriani, Unhuman and his project Bad News with LIES boss Ron Morelli himself to name a few.

Whilst An-I focuses on punk affected iterations of Dance music, Lee’s DJ career spans over 2 decades, having sustained several eras of Dance Music, he is capable of elevating dance floors through various states of abandon seemless moving between Techno, Disco and Noise across any era or tempo.

[ Vu ]

Vince Gagliardi, better known by his stage name Vū, is a music producer of ethnic electronic music and experimental dark techno from Berlin. His style has been compared to artists like Muslimgauze, Tzusing and Demdike Stare.

He is also the founder of the label “Vūmantra Records”, co-founder of the label “Modern Bön” and creator of the audiovisual project “The Nent” (Cyclic Law), well-known for its impactful A∖V live performances. Vū ́s performances focus on an immersive experience creating endarkening rhythms for dystopic sub-cultures. His voice fuses with drum machines and is accompanied by live percussion, which pulls the audience into the present moment and creates a shamanic vibe.

Some of Vū’s tracks have been released on Pact Infernal’s label ”Altar“, Borders of Known (GE), Dark Alchemy (UK), Voidance (DE), Elektro Tribe (DE), Furanum Records (DE), Area Z (FR) and more.

In the past few years, Vū has performed live at clubs and festivals such as OHM Berlin, KitKatClub, About Blank, Mensch Meier ( with the Q***r techno label SUBVERTED ), and Lunchmeat Festival 2020 ( see link below) , where he was the opening act for SOPHIE’s last ever performance.

[ SECOND TENSION ]

Second Tension is a project by Stavros Tilkeridis, a Greek artist and DJ. Stavros started creating music back in the early nineties, with next to no access to the outside world.

He started with tape loops, not too dissimilar to those by Pierre Schaffer, and got his hands on his first sampler, Mpc 2000xl, by the late nineties. Stavros was introduced to rave culture in the early two-thousands and experimented his way through them, using his music to search for a deeper, hidden meaning.

He started Second Tension in 2016 as an attempt to capture a progressive spirit in electronic music, combining primitive and industrial aesthetics. With 2 EPs and an LP, Second Tension has been released on labels such as Persephonic Sirens, OSM Tapes, Clan Destine and Monolith.

[ Kris Baha ]

Much time has passed since the Q***r Australian/Italian-Armenian, multifaceted artist, Kristian Bahoudian aka Kris Baha, swapped the parched red earth and searing midday sun of the Australian landscape for the brutalist communist-era apartment blocks and slate-grey skies of former East Berlin.

Kris is now a fixture in Berlin’s club scene and has toured most of the world as a DJ & live artist with his own unique production style of cyber industrial, EBM, wave, post punk, and early ‘90s IDM mutations.

Remixing some of the scene’s most notable artists such as Boy Harsher and techno pop lord Boys Noize, Kris has garnered respect and trust in the electronic music scene for the last 13 years. Kris’s latest club focused output ‘Cyber Body Music Vol1’ drops on May 16th on cyberpunk techno label, Kindcrime and features 6 floor ready cyber laced body trax.

American-born artist Ryan Miller is a prolific techno producer and live performer, releasing work under a variety of aliases (Tunnel, Darkcloud, FWD//, +) for record labels devoted to innovative techno and genre-fluid dance music - labels such as
Instruments of Discipline, The Brvtalist, Gegen Records, House of Reptile, Omen, Depth Request, FWDSLASH, and his own imprint, Webuildmachines.

Within the past decade, Tunnel has performed across the US, Europe, and Asia, earning a reputation as a shaman of two unique dancefloor energies - the brutal and the beautiful. Performing a kinetic blend of breaks, hard techno, cinematic sound design, and rhythmic noise, his performances balance dance-floor focused function with raw emotion and distortion-drenched intensity.

[ NƵM 99 ]

NZM99 is a project that seems to have risen from the depths of the 90s rave scene, most notably of the early Frankfurt and Belgian tradition.

Like few others, NZM99 knows how to revive those dark rolling bass walls of that time and pair them with fresh EBM arpeggios.
The legacy of French legends such as Terence Fixmer, The Hacker or David Caretta is just as unmistakable as his inspiration from vintage equipment, but NZM99’s music is always informed - but never backward-looking.

As a result, labels such as RAVE or DIE , KHOINIX and PERSEPHONIC SIRENS, quickly became aware of this unmistakable sound and were delighted with releases. NZM99 also runs his own label Tjalk Records, a heartfelt homage to the houseboat in Lyon he resides on.

His powerful DJ and live sets have brought NZM99 to international stages as an ambassador for the non-carnivalesque rave revival.

[ Ottoman Grüw ]

Trapped between flesh and technology, OTTOMAN GRÜW is the sulfurous technoid project of interdisciplinary artist Jean Grünewald. After being involved in Montreal underground music scenes for the last few years, Jean is now based in Brussels and operates the new platform/label MUTANT MODALITY.
Spread at the crossroads of industrial-minded electronics, OTTOMAN GRÜW’s identity combines intense dancefloor sound with experimental post-punk infused approach.
Through live performance to music production and DJ sets, the artist delivers a cathartic blend of rhythmic equations - spanning the spheres of techno, ebm, electro, dark ambient and noise. This research for a boundary-pushing aesthetic brought him on stage with artists like Orphx, Unhuman, Reka or Animistic Beliefs.

[ Ryuji Takeuchi ]

Ryuji Takeuchi (Local Sound Network / LSN, HueHelix) was born in Osaka, and then first contacted with Electronic Music in the early 90s.

In the late 90s, he moved to the United States, where he discovered Techno, House and Electro Music.

As soon as he got back, he started to DJ at several locations and eventually learned to produce at the same time. After that, he released on such labels as: LK Rec, Arms, Mastertraxx, FK Rec, SWR, Innervate, I.CNTRL, Impact Mechanics, Silent Steps, GSR, Brood Audio, to name but a few.

In 2011, Ryuji started his own imprint called ’Local Sound Network / LSN‘ as a platform for new generation of electronic sound which following words can appropriately describe: driving,hypnotic, atmospheric, emotional, groovy, funky… and any other aspects that rock from brain to the dance floor.

Also, Ryuji kicked off another brand new label called ’HueHelix / HHX‘ as a new platform, which discloses something new,only represented by HueHelix, together with Go Hiyama, Tomohiko Sagae and Kazuya Kawakami, in order to push quality music with global standard from where sun rises.

In 2012, Ryuji launched ’Local Sound Network Digital Solutions / LSNDS‘ series in need of discovering and introducing wider range of electronic music, aiming at dropping unique audio output while it’s hot. Music style varies. All top quality output from new and established producers all over the world.

[ Codex Empire ]

Since 2014, Codex Empire has built an international reputation for dark and intense techno productions and live shows.

Mahk Rumbae - the British born, Vienna based producer behind Codex Empire - has been creating challenging experimental electronic music for more than 30 years working as one half of industrial/experimental band Konstruktivists as well as a number of varied solo and side-projects.
combining this background in dark electronic music with heavy rhythmic elements makes Codex Empire an intense and simultaneously danceable experience both live and on record.

Codex Empire has performed over 100 live shows across Europe, Japan, Korea and Canada, as well as numerous appearances in Berlin at Berghain, Tresor, Arena Club, Su***de Circus and Boiler Room.

After releasing several well received EPs on aufnahme + wiedergabe, HORO, Sacred Court and Khemia Records, as well as numerous remixes and appearances on V/A compilations, Codex Empire released his full-length debut album ‘Slow Erosion’ in February 2019 on aufnahme + wiedergabe. This was followed by ‘Protected by Rage’ and ‘Broken by Fear’ in 2020. The latest EP release “Overneed” was released late 2023 on Rant & Rave. 2024 will bring both a new LP and EP and several new remixes.

The concept of "Amniotic Dissolve of Spirit" serves as a metaphorical exploration, encapsulating the multifaceted journey of the human psyche in its infancy when confronted with external stimuli, drawing an organic parallel between Mind and Womb.

The process initiates a Hegelian state where thesis clashes with its antithetical counterpart, leading to symbiosis and synthesis. It reveals an inner dialogue that encompasses the intricate liminal spaces of the human mind tapestry thus protecting it and making it more resilient.

Abhorrence arises when exposed to cognitive dissonance and layers of new information, in order to reduce entropy brain fog is triggered.

Amniotic dissolution occurs as a process of integration taking root in the phenomenological mind womb space, going full circle and returning to its core essence.

[ SARIN ]

SARIN is a Berlin based audio/visual and electronic music performance project with over a dozen releases over the last few years spanning vinyl, cassette & digital formats.

These releases have been put out by labels such as Aufnahme + Wiedergabe, BITE, B.F.E, Khemia, and his own X-IMG platform among others.

His sound can be described as a blend of abrasive drum programming paired with minimal and catchy bass lines layered with dystopian cut-up style sampling of media detritus and the occasional vocal elements. Combined with his visual aesthetics of appropriation & degradation the project summons spirits of 80s industrial sounds & culture from which he draws much of his inspiration from and channels them into a syncopated dance of destruction.

[ The Fifth Stigma ]

The Fifth Stigma is an industrial and esoteric project, exploring the realms of history and wonders from forgotten eras through music.

At the opposite direction of contemporary techno, The Fifth Stigma aims to craft a slow, heavy and raw metallic techno, influenced by history, emotions and obscure world music, driven by a blend of several genres in times where everything seems to go faster, look alike and tends to be too easily accessible and instantly consumed.

Production wise, he forges intimate pieces, creating sonic atmospheres filled with fantastical imagery, conjured by the artist's imagination, which have a compellingly oneiric quality, whilst always exploring new sounds from different horizons, from liturgical to techno, from noise to punk electronics.

He recently joined as resident DJ Los Angeles’ illustrious warehouse raves curator Dirty Epic, the collective behind the Compound series and Re/Form festival.

The Fifth Stigma’s selections flourishes of meticulously sorted dance-floor tracks ranging from techno to EBM to less known sub-genres, journeying across the wide scope of electronic music.

[ Incendie ]

Incendie is the solo moniker of Arthur Bdt, a Berlin-based producer, DJ and Area Z’s manager. After releasing his debut album via UndermyFeet. in 2021, along with contributions to several V/A compilations and collaborative projects, he recently presented his first club oriented EP ‘One Cursed Dance’, via aufnahme+wiedergabe.

His sound is characterized by a fusion of club music together with metal and industrial influences, conveying dark and introspective atmospheres without restricting to a specific musical genre.

In this set for Gwi Myeon podcast series, Incendie displays his musical inclinations towards cinematic and ritualistic techno with hints of post-metal, rap and rhythmic noise.

MAROONED is a music project coming from Georgia. From the beginning, The love of listening to music naturally progressed into producing it. The project has made a creative musical pathway that ties a bridge between Experimental and Industrial techno with crafty soundscapes, focusing entirely on beat-driven work.

MAROONED represents 'Borders of known'(Tbilisi) as a resident artist, resident DJ at CIRCUS club and is a family member of 'Khoros'(UK) label with his collaborative project - Marooned Solar Siblings.
His upcoming releases are planned for 'Voidance Berlin' and SHISHI Rec(Tbilisi).

A malevolent obscurity is followed by a sentimental melancholy drifting towards a deep journey into the introspection and the subconscious. It constantly emerges into the horrific and ritualistic soundscape of cryptic techno, of ancient tribal images, and of industrial dystopian visions, all melancholy is then shattered for having embraced evilness.
Giuseppe Sciretti, better known as Nigh/T\mare Alias, is an Italian DJ, producer, and live performer who is based in Puglia (South Italy). In 2017, he released a solo EP on the Bulgarian label DVNTT, and the following year, he made his vinyl debut with "Hypnagogia" on Thrènes records after also releasing music on labels like Voidance, Depth Request, and Borders Of Known. Blame Rec, VuMantra... in 2021, he released his first 2x12" album, "Katharsis," on the label that is now called Thrènes, and in 2022, he released "Ceremony" on Forbidden Teachings, which led to numerous collaborations with international musicians like Pact Infernal, Torn Relics, Alexey Volkow, LAIR, Prophàn, Killawatt, and many others.
