The first ever head to head matchup between Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa goes to Jalen and the Eagles 31-17 over Tua and the Dolphins. As always, both showed their Bama class. They participated in the most famous quarterback competition in college football history, but their relationship has always been built on mutual respect. This entire weekend has been a recruiting video for Crimson Tide football. Join me in congratulating these two Alabama legends!

Episode 10: Back with a Water Change!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We are back and it's time for a water change. Switched to Quantum USA Aragonite A & B and can see a difference in coral growth and coralline is showing up everywhere.

Running a quick water and pump test on the Frag Tank. The tank is made by Acrybox llc - LUNA REEF customs and is 24"×24"x8". Protien Skimmer and pump are both from Bubble Magus North America. The Protien Skimmer is a QQ2 Nano Internal Skimmer. The pump is a WP-1000. Thank you to LUNA REEF customs and Bubble Magus for your continued support. Look what came today! Ordered some Pinky Filters. This filter material is awesome and I love the packaging. One side catches small particles and the other catches larger particles. Episode 8: Food and Feeding

Episode 8: Feeding Time! Today, I talk about what I feed White Creamcicle, Oreo, and the other inhabinants of Skylar's Reef! Just like us, our fish do not like to eat the same foods all the time. We must switch up thier diets. Mixing between a combo of live foods like Tig pods, which I use, frozen foods, pellet, and flakes will keep your livestock happy and fed! Episode 7: A lot of updates!

Episode 7: Meet "White Creamcicle and Oreo" the newest inhabitants to the tank. White Creamcicle is a platinum clownfish and Oreo is a black-and-white clownfish. Skylar lost the Clown Goby to being harrased by the cleaner shrimp. Skylar added some shells for hermits. She got a stand for her QT/frag tank. The lid is on the tank! Today's trip was a success. Skylar was upset we lost one on the way home, but it happens and will be replaced. Stocking list:
- Cleaner Shrimp (x2)
- Blue legged hermit crab (×2)
- Red legged Hermit crab
- Black Tip Starfish
- Zebra Snail
- Clown Goby
We had also picked up a Clarkii clown, but it did not make the drive home. We are going to be replacing that when one comes in and the stocking will be complete.

First official water change since Skylar's Reef cycled! Skylar is so excited, can't you tell. Stay tuned to see what comes next. The towel on the ATO line is to stop our cat, Brian from eating it. It is the only thing that works. Thank you everyone for the support.

A little late. Measuring salt for the saltwater. Unless it involves something dangerous, Skylar does it herself. She also wears protective gear (gloves, glasses, etc.) when appropriate.

Episode 5: Making Saltwater!

“Hi this is Skylar’s reef.
Today we are going to be mixing salt the saltwater!
Last night my Dad and I made RODI water.
We refilled my ATO container.
We also got water heated for mixing salt.
SAFETY TIME!!!!
Everyone put on your protective gear!
I use Brightwell Aquatic Neomarine Reef Salt.
You want to use 134.5 grams of salt for each gallon of water or a little less than half a cup if you don’t have a scale.
We have 10 gallons, so that is 1.345 kilograms of salt. My Dad premeasured it for me here.
You want to add the salt slowly and give it time to mix.
Inside my bucket, I have a pump for circulation and a heater.

The water fills. Skylar has Two 20-gallon Brute trash cans for a mixing station. One for RODI and one for Saltwater. She will be setting up a more advanced water station down the line, but one step at a time. Tune in tomorrow to learn how she mixes her salt and gets her water ready for her tank!

Episode 4: Nitrogen Cycle

"Today we are going to talk about the Nitrogen Cycle

This is where ammonia changes to Nitrite by using the bacteria we added as fuel and then it changes it to Nitrate which is safer at low levels

We have tested the parameters daily for the past week using two test kits for comparison
Just my personal preference I like the Red Sea because there aren’t many pieces and it is easy to use for me

The temperature of the tank is 78.3 degrees and the salinity is 1.026. Ammonia is at .2
