What does And Justice for All mean to you? Have you witnessed or experienced injustice? In a highly interactive and engaging workshop, Jennifer Wolfe will lead a writing circle to explore those and other questions in our writing. She'll show us how to use our personal stories and experiences to strengthen our writing and connect with each other. Jennifer Wolfe is a writer, journalist, and publisher. She's the founder and executive director of Women Writing for (a) Change Jacksonville, a writing community offering writing circles and community events. The meeting begins at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

We live in a litigious society, and writers, among others, are afraid of being sued. Attorney Rod Sullivan discusses many of the liability problems facing writers in his presentation, “Libel, Slander, Defamation of Character, and the Right to Privacy” at this month's FWA Ponte Vedra Writers group meeting.

The meeting is free and open to the public. It is this Saturday, May 20, at 2 p.m. at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

JaxbyJax Literary Arts Festival is a celebration of area writers, poets, screenwriters, and more produced by Brad and Darlyn Finch Kuhn. It's a free event happening at the Jesses Ball DuPont Center (the former Haydon Burns Library) in downtown Jax on October 28-29. Eight writers' workshops kick off Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

A special free event for all mystery writers and readers is happening on Thursday, September 15, at The Waterworks in St. Augustine. Be there as a panel of area mystery writers unveils the secrets of writing the mystery. Participating authors include Nancy Quatrano, Judy Weber, Susan Slater, and Vic DiGenti (aka Parker Francis).

The doors open at noon with refreshments, door prizes, and more, with the panel discussion starting at 1 p.m. The authors will have their books available for purchase, and all sales benefit the Friends of the Main Library.

The Waterworks is located at 184 San Marco, next to the Main Library.
