We had a conversation with Dr. Fiona Vera - Gray about her research for her book "Women on P**n."
According to her, she discovered a significant gap in the research, especially when it came to online po*******hy and its impact on women.

A recent survey conducted in the United Kingdom revealed some interesting findings. It showed that 45% of British women have difficulty naming all the parts of the v***a. Additionally, more than a third of participants, regardless of gender, had trouble finding the
cl****is.

These findings emphasize the importance of understanding the potential consequences in a world where p**n websites attract more traffic than Instagram, Netflix, Pinterest, and TikTok combined. It's worth noting
that a leading p**n site reported that a third of its users are women.

After interviewing 100 women for her research and including it in her book, Fiona is debunking myths, delve into reasons people watch p**n and explore its impact on body image and female s*xuality.

“About ten years ago, I embarked on a journey through the beautiful forests of the Western Ghats in Karnataka. My destination was a village called Analesara, where I was warmly welcomed as a guest in a friend’s home.
During my stay, the women of the household presented me with a hand-stitched patchwork quilt, which they had skillfully crafted specifically for visitors like myself.
It was a wonderful gesture that made me appreciate the artistry of quilting practiced by the Siddi community, who are of African descent and reside in many villages in the area.

Anitha N. Reddy, a community-based art practitioner, curator, and photographer, has been awarded a Project Grant from the Karun Thakar Fund. She will be collaborating with Siddi women quilters in Karnataka to breathe new life into this age-old craft.
