The TWSBI used to be my favorite but it turns out that the Parker Kakuno writes so smooth. It makes no scratching sound! Kakuno for the win, even if my partner teased me because it was made for children.

Yesterday you got a peek, today is the big reveal!
Midwest Ephemera designed this gorgeous book plate for Almost Every Month Podcast Patreon subscribers.
Aren’t they lovely? Yes, they fit in the weeks front page and all Hobonichis.

Made on premium cream paper, the design by Midwest Ephemera reads “Ex Libris”/From the Library of_______.” The limited series design has classic book plate style and is suitable for use in the finest books and journals. 100gsm (65lb text) Colorplan “Natural” peel-off labels (made in England, acid-free), printed in three colors on a 1964 hand-fed Chandler and Price 10x15 platen press. Bryan says the pink ink was hand-mixed by eye, the blue is pantone 534, and the silver is pantone 877 mixed with transparent white. All are Van Son oil-based lithographic ink.

My May page is here, complete with Maypole and some things I’d like to focus on personally.

I love the month of May because its the birthday month of my youngest, and because it is a time to weave the maypole, and because I plant my garden each year on Mother’s Day, and because its The First of May—an important day in circus where tented circuses hit the road, sometimes bringing their newbies (who they called ‘first of mays’) along. Lastly, and importantly because it is May Day, an ancient holiday that celebrates and welcomes summer, but also International Workers Day—a day to celebrate the hard work of all people and advocate for workers rights. See my story for some thoughts on that!

Episode 4-Organize Your Life ! Our guest is Yena from Moonlit Planning (). Yena talks about the perfect layout and discusses with me all of her tools and tricks for organizing her life with her planner. I spend some time outlining the pros and cons of digital versus paper planning, and provide my best advice to newbies just entering the realm of planning. Plus, I Google the difference between a journal and a diary, and give you a special Hobonichi entry translation just for 4/20 day! If your life could use a bit of organization, I provide some of the inspiration you will need to get started and keep going in this episode!

In his Whiskered Scribe segment, Mike Quest (IG: mikequestst) faces another side to the conundrum of using paper--that planning perfectionism that prevents us from starting to use a new journal or planner because it is too precious and we don't want to wreck it!
