I've probably conducted hundreds of interviews now and here's a few things I've learnt:

- Always be patient, majority of the time these people aren't actors and are not used to being on camera
- Keep an eye on the camera to check focus and exposure, also helps your talent if you're not staring at them
- Non verbal communication is important, smile and nod to positively reinforce your interviewee
- Always ask for consent when you mic someone up
- Don't be afraid to ask people to repeat if you need them to, you'll thank yourself later
- At the end of the interview remember to thank your talent for their time
- Make sure they've signed a media release form where appropriate

I spent a good part of February travelling Colorado with Resort Leaders capturing content for our winter programme.

Our travels took us to the ski towns of Veil, Aspen and Telluride as well as spending some time in Denver to round off the trip.

Was definitely the coldest I've been in a long time but the views more than made up for it... the content wasn't too bad either.
