Thrilled to announce I'll be linking up with Asheville based !! Huge thanks to these guys for taking a chance on a stranger from Pennsylvania ❤️ Follow along on IG or www.pleanantlywildnusic.com for upcoming show dates at various destinations all around the region, as well as a vinyl event with Brooklyn area studios in March.

As well, please take some time to check out - I am super grateful to have been considered to fill in for them on Sept 2nd. It is so exciting to see a shoegaze presence in the area, especially considering shoegaze is the genre that originally got me into music in the first place! They have been pumping out dreamy, reverb soaked originals for sometime now and I can not recommend them enough.

Currently, while I catch up on material for these lovely artists, studio setup has paused for a little bit, but we promise to post some pictures of the new space asap. 💕

There's a reason has been around as long as they have, very much looking forward to dialing these in on my drums here soon!!

We have the M82 for our large diaphragm kick drum mic, M81 Tom mics for a detailed mid range at close proximity, the M80-SHB for the snare that features a tight cardiod pattern and frequency response that even allows it to be great for vocals and other instruments, and finally two matched pair M60 FET's with *6* micron gold-sputtered membranes that measure 15mm in diameter. They bolster a very wide and articulate flat-frequency response from 150hz to 7kHz.

Stay tuned for reels/clips of my sloppy drumming while I experiment with these 😂

Really can't describe the instant excitement I felt in finding this rare gem in a random antique shop near Boone. This record features bass legend Larry Graham, who not only pioneered the slap bass technique, but innovated the funk/soul genres in general.

He is also Drake's uncle. Check it out if you've never heard it, the album speaks for itself. 🎶

Well well well... Guess I got talked into buying my first upright! A piece of history no less, this beautiful and journeyed Kay C1 was built in 1943. Being my first fretless instrument, I sound terrible so far but hey, here's to improved musicianship or bust! 😅

We said a bitter sweet goodbye to the old studio this weekend, you will be missed, Butz Barn. That being said, onward to a newer and more improved studio space!

This photo (📸 ) shows us in our last days at this location while we were wrapping up getting drums down for 5 tracks on the debut EP, which we are tremendously excited to eventually share with you all later this year. 🌈

Big moves! The Airmen are branching! will remain up in the northeast working remotely with clients on production, mixes and masters. I (James) will be setting up a new and improved studio space out of the Boone/Asheville area of NC. Looking forward to serving and jamming with the musicians and artists of Appalachia in the beautiful Smoky mountains.
