On this day one year ago the first episode of was released. We have had many trials and challenging in this journey but through it all we made it thanks to God, family, friends and you the listeners! It’s taken me some time to process the loss of Chadwick Boseman. Chadwick has played in many popular movies such as: Get Up, Marshall and 42 just to name a few. Of course the favorite for many of us was Black Panther. It was the first time many of us saw a black man play a live action superhero of the big screen. I respect Chadwick for his portrayal in those roles and the excellent job he did but I think the respect goes to another level when he did all these roles while dealing with his own battle. He put his struggles to the side in order to represent us. He showed us that no matter the circumstance, no matter the obstacles you have to keep going because there is someone depending on you! Someone is seeing themselves through you, so you can’t stop but you have to keep going. Chadwick has set a example that we must all follow. Rest in Glory my brother and thank you for setting the example for all of us! ✊🏾✊🏾🙅🏿‍♂️

Know Who You Are!!

Why are you seeking validation? From your job, family, friends, social media, etc.

It was a question I asked myself the other day and a question you probably asked yourself as well once or twice.

What do we gain when society states who we are and we seek their approval?

Genesis 1:27 (NLT)says “So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”

God created each of us differently and gave us each our own purpose in life.

Our lives should be a reflection of him and to glorify him and not to please and seek validation from others.

If God is pleased, then no person, society or social media avenue can validate us or tell us who we are!

Our validation has already been approved!

The 7th Floor

The more I come of age, the more I understand the purpose for my life and how strategic God is.

When I was riding down the road the other day I thought about viewing life as an elevator.

When we walk toward the elevator, we press the button to go up and when we step on ,we select a number to go to our designated floor.

Sometimes the door opens and we exit on the floor which is not intended for us.

Sometimes the elevator breaks and we are stuck for hours until someones comes to fix it.

The elevator can represent our life in this sense.

We sometimes get in bad situations or get involved with the wrong people and it’s sometimes hard to get back on the elevator because of the pulls and strongholds that weigh on us.

Sometimes you wanna move forward but you’re just stuck and you can’t understand why everyone else is going up and you’re still stuck.

But it’s something when you finally make it to the right floor!

You gain joy, peace, happiness and a sense of belonging because you are where God has intended for you to be and you appreciate it more because you had to endure the troubles of getting stuck or getting off on the wrong floor.

We all have a floor with our name on it and it’s made just for us!

On Wednesday, I was driving from my story and I really began to think about the love of God. I thought about all the times I messed up and fail short but yet his love was still unconditional and never wavered. I’m so thankful for that because tbh it’s his love that got many of us through these tough times. He has also placed a champion in all of us to be successful and to overcome. He position us in the places we need to be at to unleash that champion to accomplish our dreams. During this season know that his love is everlasting and that if know one else sees your potential He sees it and has created the plan in order to make everything come to forth! (Jeremiah 29:11)

It's YBFree Friday!! We're free today as we celebrate Freedom Day - Juneteenth!!

"Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration honoring the end of slavery in the United States.

On June 19, 1865, Union General Gordon Granger led thousands of federal troops to Galveston, Texas to announce that the Civil War had ended, and slaves had been freed. Approximately 250,000 Texan slaves had no idea that their freedom had been secured by the government.

The slaves who got the news were jubilant to hear of their freedom on Juneteenth!

155 years later, we continue to celebrate the freedom of all Black Americans, but also remember that our job isn't done. We continue to witness and experience the injustice of the Black race. And in addition to celebration, let's reflect on these obstacles, and educate ourselves for the future, for change, and for racial equality!
