Ok guys and gals I need some input as to why in the world this would ever happen. Is this a something anyone has ever seen before. This is a Japanese tele copy by national guitar company. I am just having a hard time wrapping my head around what the point of doing this would be since it can’t be fretted why not just make one bigger fret instead two with one being unplayable and the strings actually rest on that mini fret and not the nut and it is slotted slightly for the strings. I am wondering if this was some sort of fix for a bad nut cut job. Still doesn’t make much sense but if any of y’all have an idea I would love to hear them
