The organization at the heart of Our Lady of Staten Island, The Global Medical Relief Fund (GMRF) has another remarkable journey of hope and transformation to share! Meet Aisha.

Aisha is from Gambia and spent the last seven months at GMRF’s Dare to Dream house. During her stay, Aisha underwent surgeries, castings, and rehabilitation at Shriners Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, effectively alleviating her cleft feet and providing her with more mobility.

GMRF takes immense pride in their ability to support children like Aisha, who would otherwise be unable to receive the life-changing treatment they need to walk, maintain their mobility, and embrace their independence. GMRF provides housing, meals, transportation, and day-to-day care to Aisha, her mother, and countless other families in need.

The the star of the documentary, Elissa Montanti, along with writer, producer and director Michael McKinley discuss the film's focus on Elissa’s work helping African children with Albinism, who have been victims of mutilation, get needed protheses.
