!!GIVEAWAY!!

Have you checked out our Zine and Podcast? Do you have any thoughts you would like to share? Share them with us by filling out a survey and letting us know what you thought of the our project!

Instructions:
• Fill out a short survey and let us know what you thought about our project, the podcast and the zine!!
• Anyone who answers the survey is eligible to win one of two books prizes! The winners will receive either the book "Fierce Femme" or "Nîtisânak" from Metonomy Press!
• Deadline to complete the survey is Sunday June 28th, 2020 at 6pm! We will contact the winners the following Monday.

K**a La Mackerel (they//them) is multi-disciplinary artist, educator, cultural mediator, writer and literary translator from Mauritius. K**a moved to Tio’tia:ke (Montréal) in 2012.

The creator and host of GENDER B(L)ENDER: q***r open stage, K**a generated a cornerstone of the Montreal q***r performance scene.

We are beyond excited to announce that Laurence Philomène is one of our Feature Artists in the Zine! We can't wait to show you their work! x
Laurence Philomène is a photographer based in Montreal, Canada. They use a blend of documentary, fine art and self portrait to explore q***r and trans experiences through high-saturated, caring and intimate images. Laurence's work is informed by their lived experiences as a chronically ill, non-binary transgender artist coming of age amid the rise of social media.

Under the Umbrella is excited to announce that our cohort’s project will be a Zine and a Podcast! Through these mediums, our goal is to encourage people to start thinking about gender and how they express it, and to normalize these conversations in society and our own lives. In the upcoming weeks we will be releasing a few sneak peeks of what we have been working on, so stay tuned! 🎊
Sous le parapluie est heureux d’annoncer que le projet de notre cohorte sera un Zine et une baladodiffusion! Nous avons décidé de créer une plateforme pour encourager les gens à commencer une réflexion sur le genre et comment on l’exprime. Notre objectif est de normaliser les conversations sur l’expression des genres dans notre société et dans nos propres cercles. Dans les prochaines semaines, nous allons vous montrer des aperçus du travail des derniers mois. Restez à l’affût! 🎊

It’s important to keep in mind that this definition is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to gender expression, and there are so many other ways to understand it.
