Something terrible is happening in rural areas of Enugu.

This is Mr Lawrence Mama from Imufu village, Enugu Ezike, Igbo Eze North LGA.

Mr Lawrence is a retired police officer and the present leader of his community. He was beating to stupor and almost killed by the Nigeria soldiers who accused him of knowing the members of ESN and Ipob member in his community but refused to give them their names and address if not for the intervention of his younger brother who is a magistrate.

Mr Lawrence said that it took the intervention of his younger brother who is a magistrate whom his wife contacted immediately, who contacted their local govt chairman to stop the soldiers from killing him.

They came to my community and asked some kids to take them to their traditional ruler. They were brought to my house. Then after greetings, they asked me to give them all the ESN and Ipob member in my community. I told them that i don't know what they are talking about. They told me to follow them to their barracks that their oga wants to see me. I dressed up and followed them. I got there and the oga who is a major told me that I must provide all the names of ESN member in my community which I gave him the answer I gave to his boys. That was when the beating and torture began.

Mr Lawrence said that this has been the modus operandi of Nigerian soldiers in his community which have led to countless death of so many innocent youths in his community who the soldiers intentionally tagged ESN in order to kill them.

He said what the soldiers does is that they will come to his community, meet some elders or prominent men and demand they take them to ESN members they know and when they tell them that they don't know any ESN member in their community, the soldiers will take them to an unknown location where they will torture them until they being to mention names of innocent youths of the community who know nothing about ESN just to escape the torture. Those that refused to mention any name will be killed and tagged ESN sponsor and will be published in the news media.

Mr Lawrence said that his experience as a retired police officer helped him to endure their torture longer than he could before his brother intervened and rush him to st Theresa hospital, Enugu Ezike.

The broke my legs and told me they will torture me until I die or even shot me and nothing will happen unless I mention and take them to all the ESN members in my community.

Even though I introduced myself to their oga as the community leader and a retired police officer who served the country for 35 years, he told me that he don't care that i must produce all the ESN members in my community to be killed or i will be killed..

I have never been humiliated and treated like this in my entire life. I don't know why a country I served with all my soul for 35 years and retired without blemish will treat me like a common criminal in my own country home where i decided to spend my remaining years on earth, he said..

UPDATE ON TOMORROW’S SCHEDULED COURT CASE OF ONYENDU MAZI NNAMDI KANU:

Ututu Oma, Ezigbo UmuChineke,

Please be informed that we have just received communication from the Federal High Court’s Registrar, notifying us that the Court will no longer be sitting tomorrow, 26th May, 2022, on Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s case.

According to the Registrar, this is because His lordship, Justice Binta Nyako is indisposed, and as such, the matter is now adjourned to the 28th day of June, 2022 for Ruling/Hearing.

We most respectfully, urge you all to maintain restraint, as you have always done. Keep your eyes on the ball, which is the freedom of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Also, please note that Justice delayed is not justice denied. We are aggressively cruising to victory, it is only a matter of time.

We profoundly appreciate your solidarity, unflinching support and prayers, which have been sustaining us thus far. Please do not relent in your prayers, we do not take it for granted.

We shall continue to keep you all informed as events unfold.

And again, permit me to ask..
Why till date, Barrister Ejiofor hasn't filed an application before Justice Binta Nyako of Abuja Federal High Court seeking for his client, our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to be transferred to prison since it has been established beyond every shred of doubt that the State Security Service, self-styled as the Department of State Services (DSS) have consistently showed little or no regard to all the court judgements mandating them to allow Mazi Nnamdi Kanu change his cloths, access to proper medical attention, access to his readibb glasses and his religious books?
Why is this application for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to be transferred to prison yet to appear before Justice Binta Nyako's court or other competent court of jurisdiction?
Are these infractions on onye ndú's fundamental rights not proficient enough to be put together as an application and tendered before a judge?
Simple, Onowu Ejiofor and Mike Ozakhome (SAN) should file a legal injunction mandating the court to order an immediate transfer of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from the DSS detention facility straight to prison since the DSS aren't ready to heed to court orders to allow Mazi Nnamdi Kanu change his clothes..
No jury would be prejudicial enough to deny such an application.. Just move a motion and the judge will definitely grant your application by contacting the prison wardens to take Kanu straight to the prison since the DSS have violated all the court judgements which indicates that the life of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu isn't safe in their hands anymore.
Why do Ejiofor keep promising to do something to stop the Dss from further infraction on Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's rights when he could just move a motion before a competent court of jurisdiction for onye ndú to be transferred to prison? What exactly is going on? Why are the legal counsels not thinking towards this direction?
Why is this motion yet to appear before a federal court? Why? Why?? Why???
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has suffered so much severe psychological abuse in the hands of the The State Security Service, self-styled as the Department of State Services, and the earlier MNK is transferred to prison, the better..
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu life's isn't something to be treated with a kid glove because should he be found missing, Nigeria will definitely not find it funny.. So, a stitch in time saves nine..

CLARIFICATION ON THE WRONG NARRATIVE MAKING THE ROUNDS OVER THE PURPORTED DESIGNATION OF THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF BIAFRA (IPOB) AS A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION BY THE UNITED KINGDOM:

In view of the obvious sponsored false narrative ostensibly orchestrated by mischief makers, the facts needs to be set right.

Following the UK Government's update vide the UKVI, which is clear and unambiguous in every respect, the direction contained in the referenced update is that the Indigenous People of Biafra's (IPOB) affiliated applicants seeking for ASYLUM status in the UK, should not be considered on the merit of such claims without thorough review of their level of involvement in uncivil activities.

Obviously making reference to the proscription of IPOB in Nigeria, and relying on such sub-judicial subject, to insist that the granting of Asylum status on the basis of IPOB related persecution claims, can no longer be as a matter of course.

It is pertinent to point out that the leadership of the IPOB have severally distanced the peaceful movement, from the increasing violent activities of some blood sucking monsters going on in the South East under the name of UNKNOWN GUN MEN, and in most cases, offered to join in the fight against these monsters.

The leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra has never supported the nefarious activities of these enemies of our people, neither have they, in any of their publications approved such inhuman and barbaric activities of the UNKNOWN GUN MEN.

Moreover, the UK Government needs to be aware that the proscription status of the IPOB is a subject matter before the Court of Appeal, currently pending before the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division in Appeal Number: CA/A/214/2018 between IPOB VS ATTORNEY GENERAL OF THE FEDERATION, now coming up on the 12th day of October, 2022 for definite hearing.

Therefore, all foreign governments are persuaded not to rely on largely fabricated publications on the pages of Nigerian Newspapers in arriving at such far-reaching decision, which is capable of endangering millions of innocent lives who are being persecuted in Nigeria for being members of the IPOB.

In the coming days, the IPOB legal team will make formal representation to the UK Government on this subject via the British High Commission in Nigeria, accompanied with verifiable facts and evidence, to persuade the UK Government to review their recent position.

For clarity, the Government of the United Kingdom have not designated the IPOB as a terrorist organization, rather, reference was made to the proscription of the Organization in Nigeria, and also the heinous crimes being perpetrated by some dissidents in the South East, which said crimes are totally condemnable and have nothing whatsoever to do with the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) which is a peaceful, non-violent self determination group.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) remains a lawful and peaceful movement.

Our legal team has also moved for a bail application which will see the unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
