First local mineral water (sparkling and still) 💦 in returnable glass bottles was lauched by Sai Yok Springs. Bottled directly from a spring in Sai Yok valley, Kanchanaburi. Bottles are presently delivered to restaurants and hotels in Bangkok, introducing a deposit system. Water testing was done following German quality standards. The launch was supported by Kosapan Distillery and CANES Vegan Casual-dining Restaurant & Grocery Store at Health Land.

While Thai chocolatiers at Siamaya Chocolate, Pridi_cacao or กานเวลา KanVela Craft Chocolate have contributed to the local Thai artisan chocolate scene, Chocolate artisans in Sarawak from Chelum Sarawak Chocolate and BORCO-Borneo Chocolate are making a difference with local flavors as Sarawak pepper, sour eggplant (surprisingly good) or sago flower. The local cocoa production is growing slow and the Sarawak Cocoa Cluster has been established and is producing block chocolate for the chocolate entrepreneurs. 🍫 keep on going! 🥰

Kuching Sarawak (Borneo) - the Satok wet market is a great experience to find jungle food, meet local vendors and learn about local products. This is the cleanest and most hygienic open air wet market we have seen. The products are portioned on little plates. Great idea to avoid plastic packaging🥰. Bring you own locally produced basket when shopping 🧺

The Ranee Sarawak - Empowering Artisanal Communities. 🥰 I met Rosemarie, the owner and creative designer at the Sarawak Design Week in Kuching and was impressed by her engagement to connect and collaborate with craft people in local communities to create amazing home decorations. Merging traditional craftsmanship with modern design and using inspirations from other cultures helps to raise awareness for local artisans in Sarawak. I loved the upcycled rattan fan covers made by a weaver community in Batong or the rice basket bamboo containers with the Iban Warrior hat lid. The Ranee Artisan Gallery at the Borneo Cultures Museum is a showcase of local craftmanship. Get inspired by visiting the online shop.

CAFÉS IN OLD BUILDINGS - Charoenkrung. This was the first road in Bangkok to open in 1864. Since the riverside has been revived as the Creative District, you can spot old buildings with cute little cafés. Homuホーム Cafe serves Japanese 🍨 desserts and has the smallest rooftop seating in town🪑🪑. HĒIJīi Bangkok Cafe, opposite of the Old Post Office building, is housed in a Chinese-style shop house. The revitalisation and conversion of old buildings attracts visitors, but also helps to reflect on the past.
