After a period of feeling burnt out, today I got the gear out again - testing an idea I'd had kicking round my head for a number of weeks to help solve the issue of monitoring in my live room.

Worked pretty well, next step will be to test it in an actual session!

It's a quiet Sunday, so I'm mucking round on acoustic 🎸 with a narrow 60° XY mic setup... Gives it a subtle stereo effect and minimises phasing issues at the same time. Great for solo stuff!

Had the pleasure of paying a visit to the legend TK at today to pick up some new mics! Was incredibly inspiring listening to the story of how he built the studio from the ground up.

A super humble guy with a world class skillset and facility - If you're looking to get a recording made to the highest gold standard, definitely check out The Armoury. You can't go wrong.

A throwback to the first time I ran a tiny live PA system in 2018. Was a great interface, but a pain to set up and operate! I can smell my own frustration in this photo... Thankfully I use a much simpler rig now.

Spent Saturday helping record their entry for the Radio NZ Kiwi Cover contest. Was a challenge to record and turnaround a full mix in 24 hours but I managed!
