Migraines differ from person to person and symptoms are varied.

If you've copped a belter or two over the years, we have some good news.

There’s some really solid research which suggests that exercise could be one effective tool to reduce migraines.

Awake at 3am breastfeeding is “seizing the day”?!

5 months later… 🤣

It is with great joy that we can announce the safe arrival of the newest member of the Women Like You family, a bouncing baby boy for Gab and her husband. And it turns out babies are pretty time consuming!

So we’re back on the pod a little later than planned but as they say it’s better late than never.

On this episode, Gab and Sarah have an epic birth story to share. A word of warning though, it does involve a pretty hectic injury.

And how’s the postpartum exercise coming along? Lol. You’ll hear all about that too.

Today we dropped our final episode for the year! Thank you so much for all your love, support, emails and messages throughout 2022. Gab’s next big project is welcoming her baby to the world in January and once she & bub are ready we will both be back with more episodes of the Women Like You podcast in 2023. Angela is a brilliant physiotherapist specialising in pelvic health and she’s freakin’ amazing.

We talked about under-active and overactive pelvic floor issues and some of the common problems women experience when it comes to pelvic health (like incontinence, prolapse after childbirth, and painful s*x). And the good news is, you don’t have to put up with it!

Angela explains some of the things that can help you live your most comfortable, healthy and active life.

In this weeks episode of the WLY podcast we step back in time to look at the history of how women have been targeted by the fitness industry over the last century, and how it has fueled women’s obsession with weight loss.

Our most cringeworthy discovery, the work of Debbie Drake, a fitness instructor born in the 1930’s who’s album (above) made it clear WHO women should be working out for. Not for themselves, but of course, their husbands. The back cover of her best selling fitness album is enough to bring any feminist to tears! Anyhow, best be off for my weekly pedicure 😂

Checklist for keeping your husband happy:
1. Firm and graceful body.
2. Be at home when he arrives. (If you must work, try to arrange it so you’re home first.)
3. Clothes, s*xy – for your evenings home.
4. Be interested in him and the things he does.
5. A good conversationalist.
6. A bright smile over morning coffee.
7. Nice voice (keep it soft and musical; also a pretty laugh.)
8. Excess fat (taboo).
9. Well-set hair (brushed and clean).
10. Mentally alert (try reading).
11. Pin-curls (if they are a must, pin up after the lights are out and wear a bed cap.)
12. Perfume – just for him, when he’s home.
13. A regular manucure.
14. A weekly pedicure.

Back at Bondi Icebergs for the 2022 winter swimming season 💪

Last year we got 6 weeks in before lockdown (and there was no swimming at all in the winter of 2020.) Let’s see how we go this season!

To become a lifetime member of the club you have to complete 75 winter swims over 5 years. (Note: I have no idea where I’m up to because the last few years have thrown this out of wack!)

Swimming takes place every weekend from May-September and it’s very inclusive. All swimming abilities are welcome and no one gives a s**t about your wobbly bits!

This is why ya gotta take it easy when you exercise 🤦‍♀️

Gab went for a run to get some bread from the bakery (points for combining an everyday task with exercise) and ran home carrying the bread like a rugby ball 🏉

So, I had a dermatologist appointment today, and it turns out I have a non-melanoma skin cancer front & center in my forehead. Biopsy today to work out what the next steps are. I’ll likely need some surgery to sort it out, and I’ll be 100% ok, but it’s a timely reminder to slip slop slap when you’re getting your morning sunshine & exercising outdoors. Stay tuned for an upcoming episode on how to safely exercise in the great outdoors, but never forget to wack on some 50+ SPF & a gorgeous hat when you’re outside in our beautiful country.
